The only thing worse than chapped lips? Sticky, waxy lips. S.W. Basics all-natural balm soothes dry, cracked mouths without depositing tacky residue or excess shine. Packed in a cute tin with four delicious scents (Peppermint, Cocoa, Cinnamon, and Citrus), the beeswax-based line-up has a salve to suit any mood.
This lip balm helped to keep my lips smooth, but I wasn't crazy about the cinnamon scent. It wasn't a sweet smell like I would have preferred a cinnamon scent to smell.2
This went on smoothly and left my lips feeling moisturized, a big deal as I have hyper-sensitive lips. Love the all-natural ingredients and would have gladly used this all up, but the scent was much too strong for me. I sampled the cinnamon variety and it was just too much right under my nose to keep using. I passed my sample onto my mom and she's now loving it. If you can get past the initial hit of scent, this is a great product. Sadly, just not for me. :(2
This is a very soft lip balm, but I got cinnamon and it's just not a good flavor. It wasn't overwhelming, but still didn't impress. As I am also not a fan of peppermint lip balms I wouldn't purchase a set of four when I would only use two2
When I wear this, the feel is pretty good. Either the taste or smell (I'm not sure) makes me really sick at my stomach. It progressively gets worse the longer I wear it.2
Usually, I am really easy to please when it comes to lip balm, but I received the citrus sample in my box this month and I did not enjoy the strong scent (reminded me of a cleaning product) or the greasiness of the balm.2
I received the citrus smell. It is completely overpowered by the cocoa butter and coconut oil. On a blind smell, I would in no way ID this as citrus. like the way the balm feels on my lips, but I didn't find it very lasting. It wore out a bit textured feeling.
If you are a regular cocoa butter user, you'd probably like this as it's a bit lighter, but it wasn't for me.
I got the citrus lip balm in my birchbox. It didn't seem citrusy to me though. All I could smell or taste was the cocoa butter. My husband tried it too, and he said it felt like he just rubbed butter on his lips.2
I'm not happy about this product. First off I can't stand peppermint chap stick and this product didn't come with a label on it...so its just a clear plastic chap stick tube...I don't feel comfortable using something that isn't lable2
I was sent the cinnamon lip balm in my Birchbox. The ingredients include cardamom and cinnamon. The cardamom is completely overpowering and I couldn't smell the cinnamon at all. It seems the balm is misnamed since it smells like the cardamom ginger.
I didn't like the scent, however the texture was very good. Perhaps a different scent would be better.
I received the Citrus lip balm in my Birchbox this month. I like the smoothness of the product and the way it feels on my lips, but I'm really not crazy about the taste/smell. Something about it reminds me of bug repellent. Maybe the other flavors are better, but the citrus one is not for me (and normally I like citrus).2
