Here’s a quick lesson in skincare history: In West Africa, traditional black soap is made by mixing the ash and barks of local plants with healing oils. Rich in vitamins A and E, it’s become prized by women around the world for its abilities to battle blemishes and the signs of skin aging. This rich cleansing and exfoliating bar from Shea Terra Organics is the real deal. Made with USDA-certified organic ingredients, it retains all the medicinal benefits of the original African soap.
Before my breakouts were terrible (being the fact I always had good skin) but this year I been through a lot of stress and in school was tough. So I went back to the original thing my mom always recommended, black soap. Bought this and seen results less than a week! My face is clearing up like clockwork by using this morning and night. To save more soap I split it into quadrants of four so I'm still using my first piece. My acne is almost clear, my complexion is becoming luminous again and overall these large pores has tighten creating elasticity (softness). The biggest thing with acne on ppl is the cause of large pores, having large pores can cause extreme breakouts. With this soap is fixes those unwanted large pores making them extremely tight and cleanses your pores to avoid future breakouts. I don't use any exfoliating brush only my bare hands when applying. I use this black soap with Dr.Brandts pores no more cleanser (day and night) and follow up with Murad vitamin c day moisture and at night uses Murad vitamin c night moisture. This concoction is amazing!!5
I bought this soap to get my shopping cart up enough to get a promo and I am very surprised. The name of the soap and the color of the soap are very deceiving. I have a lot of trouble with acne on my upper back and shoulders and this has really helped it out a lot. It makes my skin feel soft and has really reduced my breakouts. It is rough, so not advised for those with sensitive skin. Will be a loyal customer now.5
This is a very good profound proudont product . I recommend it5
Great product. It defiantly cleanses your skin leaving it feeling clean and soft. I would defiantly purchase again. I hAve a hard time finding products that don't irritate my skin but this did not5
I have used this soap and purchased it for my teens. Really great. Made my skin feel great and helped clear up acne. All products from them are pure and benefit the region they come from. Must have.5
This product is truly wonderful. I have been trying so many different products to use for my premenopausal skin. I have had many breakouts on my chin. This was the only product that actually worked on me.5
This soap is a little rough. I just soap up my hands and put the suds on my face. My skin was literally squeaky clean!5
My skin feels so much softer after using! I love how it doesn't have a scent so my face isn't all perfume smelling.5
I LOVE this SOAP! The lather was FABULOUS! Soft, creamy and it felt amazing! I am over 50, and I have had dry skin since as long as I can remember. The first time I used this soap, I could feel a difference in my skin. It was soft, smooth and not tight. I didn't mind the black color and have not noticed it in my shower as others have noted. I will definitely be purchasing again.5
I got this because I had some points to spare and wanted to bump up my order for free shipping. Now that I've used it, I'm so glad I tried this out! I've gone through a full bar, now working on my second, and am a firm believer in this soap.
I started suffering from pretty awful acne when I started puberty, and over a decade later it's not let up one bit. It's been a constant embarrassment and has brought down my self-confidence. Then I found this soap.
After years of medications, creams, washes, masks, exfoliants, and countless other remedies, this is the first thing that has actually made a real, lasting effect. After using this just once or twice, I started seeing a difference, and as I continued to use it, the results just kept improving.
While my skin isn't perfectly clear, I now rarely have to deal with more than a small pimple or two. Even if I don't use the soap for a while, my skin doesn't just bounce back to the war zone it was - it stays (mostly) clear and even.
If you've reached the end of your tether trying to clear up acne, I'd highly recommend you give this a shot.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is to not overuse it or scrub too harshly. Lather it on your hand and THEN apply it to your face. About two weeks into using it, I got overexcited and started applying it straight with the bar, sometimes twice a day, and after a few days of being way too harsh I ended up with a patch of skin on one cheek that was raw and looked lightly sunburnt. So don't do that. Use it ever other day, at most, and don't go overboard with the scrubbing.
