Like a sturdy roll of duct tape, this multitasking spray is the ultimate quick-fix product. Part dry shampoo, part texturizer, its unique formula soaks up oils in grimy hair, and gives your flattened, blown-out coif an instant dose of altitude. Waking up late never felt so serene. Patented polymers absorb oil to give hair a rough-and-tumble texture, while adding a bit of hold to keep things in place—all without the powdery residue that some dry shampoos leave behind.
I was so excited about this dry texturizing spray. It does an awesome job pumping up the volume, but very little for texture besides make my hair unworkable. The two times I have used this spray I have ended up wearing it in a ponytail. I will use it again soon when have more time to play with my hair, but will most likely not buy this product again.2
This product works great in terms of refreshing 2nd day hair. It seems the less I use the better, as it tends to make my hair super slick and oily if I spray too much. With that being said, I don't think it works exactly like a dry shampoo, but it has it's perks (smell).3
I test dry shampoos like it's my job...I am never without it! Love the scent of this product, but that's where it ends. It does add some volume but ultimately leaves my hair feeling dirty and with an unpleasant texture. Too expensive for the end result. I have found that the Suave line of dry shampoos is my absolute favorite, and at a fraction of the cost.3
After reading reviews I was expecting this product to be amazing but I thought it was just good or okay, just another dry shampoo type product. I will continue to use it after spending the hefty price for a full bottle and hope it gets better!3
I have no idea how this can be compared to a dry shampoo, because for me it does the complete opposite: makes my hair look dirtier and feel heavy! My hair is mostly straight, with a slight wave and I use this product on days I want to amp up the waviness and volume. It also helps when my hair is just washed & dried, and I am trying to get some second-day texture going. But dry shampoo? Definitely not. I am someone who likes to go a few days between washes, and if I use this, it's underneath with a dry shampoo along my hairline and part to control oil. This does nothing to control oil. Smells great!3
The best thing about this stuff is the smell, but I really don't understand what everyone loves about it. The only good thing it seems to do is when I straighten my hair and need a little lift at the roots on day 1 - but it's not enough like a dry shampoo for day 2, and it doesn't really do much for texture for me, either straight or curly.3
While I certainly liked this, I am confused as to how the price is justified. In my opinion it was not all that different from a normal high end hair spray. I will use what I have, but I will not be buying this on my own.3
The good: The Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray does indeed give volume and texture to hair. I have very straight hair and I generally use this right after washing and drying. It also does a fine job as a dry shampoo. There's no white residue like some dry shampoo leaves, so there's no problem with using a lot.
The bad: I found that I really needed to use quite a lot of product to get noticeable, long-lasting results. I think that's generally true of products like this, but the price makes that factor kind of annoying. The fragrance is pretty terrible. It's not exactly overpowering or particularly noticeable to others, but it does remind me of heavy, powdery perfume.
I've definitely enjoyed using this dry shampoo for the added volume it can give to day-old, limp hair. However, it doesn't absorb as much oils as I had hoped. I do community theater and this is a great product to have in my bag when I have to go straight from work to a performance. Helps give my strands some new life.3
I wanted to love this stuff but was disappointed. The reviews were so good and I saw it recommended in several magazines. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. It doesn't work any better than a cheap hairspray but it does smell wonderful. Also, the sprayer on the bottle I received was extremely difficult to push down. It is probably defective but I am too lazy to ship it back. It's frustrating when you order something and wait several days for it to ship, then it doesn't work. Oh well, it didn't work for me but everyone has different hair. It's probably worth trying just for the amazing scent!3
