What goes on must come off. And when it comes to removing our makeup, we want the process to be as quick and painless as possible. This Brooklyn brand’s organic makeup remover removes the day’s buildup in a flash, and is mild enough for even sensitive skin. It also works as a moisturizing face oil, which means we can simply rub in the remainder—pretty sweet, right?
I wanted to love this stuff. I really really did. I was so excited to get it.
But I use waterproof eyeliner and mascara. And this just doesn't do a good job of removing it. I've tried letting it "set" on my lashes before wiping, but that doesn't help. And if I get the oil in my eye, it gets all goopy and blurs my vision.
I know it removes my eye shadow pretty well, but the waterproof stuff, it doesn't.
It gives me a sad, because I really, really wanted to like it. :(
Remember when you order this product that you are paying for "organic sweet almond oil, organic extra-virgin olive oil, and nourishing jojoba oil." In other words, OIL, OIL, and more OIL. It was a little too intense for me, but if you're a fan of heavily oil-based makeup remover, then maybe this is right for you!2
I love the idea of an all natural makeup remover. Most makeup removers tend to make my eyes sting and I definitely do not have that issue with S.W. Basics' remover. However, it takes a lot of scrubbing to get my waterproof mascara to come off. Still on my search for a great sting-proof remover but I would use this one again if I don't find another.3
honestly, i find this to be great packaging (heavy glass bottle, reminiscent of old apothecary drugs)...but in the end it's a simple blend of oils, that feels oily on your face, and leaves some oil. it works to remove makeup as well as any scentless $2 lotion you have around3
This product was a little oily for me, but very good if you have sensitive eye area. I will definitely buy again if I do not find something for sensitive eye area.3
Like a lot of people here -- I also found this to be heavy and oily on my eyes. It works, but I feel like I have to swipe my eyes a lot and then they feel heavy.3
I wasn't wild about this product. It's a fairly thick oil and because its thick it didn't glide across the skin as well as other oil based removers.3
I love the fact that this is an all natural product but it's only 'so-so' for removing makeup. It does the job, but I've found that I have to use a lot to get a little mascara off.3
This makeup remover has a great ingredient list & works very well for face, lids, & lips. It's even great if you want to leave it on as a facial moisturizer once in a while. That said, it just doesn't cut it for waterproof mascara, especially when you have more than one layer on. While I really want to find a green/clean makeup remover for my addiction to waterproof mascara, this is just not the one.3
This is not the makeup remover for mascara. however it's great for lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner and other types of makeup.
I often will use a "tough" remover for eyeliner, and follow up with this under the eyes as i feel that it has to be easier on the delicate skin area on my undereyes.
It's a supplemental remover.
