The product that has had the most radical (positive) effect on our beauty regimen isn’t a miracle cream or a long-wearing lipstick. It’s a piece of super soft elastic. Twistbands are a permanent fixture in the Birchbox office—on staffers’ wrists, in their ponytails, and even decorating their water bottles. We’re fans because they keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. (And because they’re cute, of course.) This exclusive set includes 15 of our favorites, from lace to neon varieties, plus three holiday-appropriate headbands.
I like this product, I really do. I got one hairband as a sample in a Birchbox and I used it all the time so I decided to order the kit. I really do like these hairbands, but sparkly ones are really the most resistant to stains. Any of the others tend to stain easily and I haven't figured out the best way to clean them while still maintaining their elasticity. I wasn't really a huge fan of all of the neon colors in the kit either, I wish that they gave you more options regarding what ones you received. Additionally, for what the product is it seems fairly overpriced. You can find other brands that seem equal in quality for much cheaper. Overall, yes I like this product very much but I do not think I would spend the money on it again.3
I found that the plethora of thinner bands included here were basically useless - they stretched out quickly. I would recommend buying the thicker bands only.3
The headbands are great! They stay in place and are really comfortable especially for glasses-wearers.
The hairties are less exciting, they don't hold the hair super nicely (I have thick hair), so it may be better for thinner hair but not thicker.
The headbands slip off unless I leave them right at my hairline or pin them into place. The hair ties get stretched out faster than my normal fabric elastic bands, but if I don't wrap them as tight as I do, they'll slip right off. They're cute, but I don't think they're a good match for fine hair.3
I don't think these are any better than any similar product sold at any drug store or discount store. I do end up with dents in my hair from the headbands. They are cute, and work well. I'm just not sure they are worth the extra cost.3
I love these hair ties! One issue that I have with them is that I have very thick hair and they don't hold it up all that well! But I still wear them all the time!3
I just received the Twistband sampler set. I've not used these before and am looking forward to giving them a try. I have pretty long, thick hair and wasn't sure if the hair bands would hold it all. But, so far it's working quite well. This set came with three styles of hair bands (think rubber bands without the yanking quality) and three sparkly, stretchy head bands that won't dig into my scalp.
Two styles of the hair bands are solid colored super stretchy elastic. The third style is patterned. It is less stretchy than the other two. It is as if the pattern is painted or ironed on. I'm not sure how long this will last since it is less stretchy. And, I am wondering if I am running or exercising if it will hold tightly. I have it on now and after many brisk head shakes it is still holding strong.
I like the colors and they styles and the promise not to damage my hair. They are not surprisingly much more costly than regular stretchy rubber bands for hair. But I think the cuteness factor is worth it.
I love the idea of these bands. My hair is fine and the least breakage possible from a hair tie is what I'm looking for. The colors in this pack are great, I've used almost all of them. I love wearing them on my wrist as an accessory prior to putting my hair up as well. The only drawback is that they lose their shape so reuse after awhile is difficult as the hold isn't as good anymore.3
Not harsh on your hair. I preferred the smaller twists. The headband was not very effect, as it did not stay in place. Some of the colors were desirable and some were not. I'd prefer to pick my on colors fir the twists.3
I'm a little iffy on whether or not it will hold up and stay in my hair, but it's definitely a cute, easy accessory to have for a little something extra in your outfit.3
