The product that has had the most radical (positive) effect on our beauty regimen isn’t a miracle cream or a long-wearing lipstick. It’s a piece of super soft elastic. Twistbands are a permanent fixture in the Birchbox office—on staffers’ wrists, in their ponytails, and even decorating their water bottles. We’re fans because they keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. (And because they’re cute, of course.) This exclusive set includes 15 of our favorites, from lace to neon varieties, plus three holiday-appropriate headbands.
After seeing all of the awesome reviews, I was very hopeful by this product. They are just okay. I wore one of the headbands all day and it did leave a dent in my hair and it kept sliding back on head, so I had to bobby pin it in place. I probably won't buy anymore of these.3
My fiance tried it out. We got a silver one in her March Box. She says it looks basic and cheap at first glimpse but actually works fairly well. Craftsmanship is moderate, the ends have an abrupt cut which leads to her questioning whether or not this is something she can make on her own. Overall not bad she said.3
I really like the idea of twistband, but for my hair it doesn't cut it. I have super thick, curly hair and the twistband just isn't sturdy enough.3
It seemed like everyone was obsessed with these hair ties and bands and I thought I'd try them too to see what all the rage is about. They're definitely cute but is it worth the money? I'm not sure. My drugstore elastics that are like 100 for 4 bucks work just fine too...3
I absolutely LOVE these for when I braid my hair! They looks so cute and I like all the fun bright colors and patterns. My only complaint is that they don't hold my hair in a regular ponytail very well because my hair is so thick and fine. Even with that, I would still buy more for myself and for others as gifts!3
I purchased these for my teenage daughter. She says they do not leave creases in her hair but are not strong enough to hold her very thick hair.3
I was excited to receive this in my box. It does its job but it does stretch out and thus does not stay put as well. The ends are starting to frey as well. I will continue to use them but dont think they will last as one would hope.3
I really don't see much difference between this product and a regular elastic band - especially considering the disparity in pricing.3
I heard all the hype and was excited to give these a try. They do help prevent as noticeable creases in the hair, but they just don't give my hair the support it needs. I have thick hair, so maybe they would work better for someone with thinner hair.3
At first, I was IN LOVE with these, so I bought the sampler set. I thought they'd be great and wonderful. I loved the different colors and styles, and I'd hope they'd last me a while. They are good hair bands, and they are stylish, but they also stretch out very quickly and lose color if they get wet. As a frequent handwasher, this is a problem. None of them have retained their color after I washed my hands a few times. They are also unraveling quite a bit. So, they work well as their job, but have not lived up to what I had hoped.3
