The product that has had the most radical (positive) effect on our beauty regimen isn’t a miracle cream or a long-wearing lipstick. It’s a piece of super soft elastic. Twistbands are a permanent fixture in the Birchbox office—on staffers’ wrists, in their ponytails, and even decorating their water bottles. We’re fans because they keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. (And because they’re cute, of course.) This exclusive set includes 15 of our favorites, from lace to neon varieties, plus three holiday-appropriate headbands.
This sampler set comes with so many hair ties it's a great value. They're all very cute colors and I love that I got a variation of sizes. My only complaint is how quickly these seem to stretch out. I have thick hair and after a day of wear the twistbands stretch out pretty significantly...but I've found this of all brands of the style of ponytail holders.4
Due to some sort of technical snafu, I missed out on the box that included a sampler of Twistbands, but they were so positively reviewed and so heavily promoted that I decided to spent some points to buy them. Big mistake. My slippery, flat hair just spits these bands (ponytail holders and headbands alike) right out, but they manage to pull hair with them. The color selection I got was pretty gross -- lots of weird beiges and strange fluoro colors reminiscent of the worst parts of my impoverished early nineties childhood, when most of my clothes shopping had to be done at Le K-Marche. The ugliest are the 'lace'-style bands, which have a lace print on one side, and a white background on the reverse. It's pretty difficult to ensure, when twisting these around your hair, that the white part isn't facing outward, and it gets visibly discolored pretty easily. Glad I used my points on these instead of real money, because they absolutely are not worth the dollar value assigned to them.1
I dont know if they changed the fabric from the one included in the original box-but this one changed shape and twisted into a small band very quickly. The headbands kept shape, but not the small hairbands.4
I liked the sample I got in my Birchbox, so I ordered more. I didn't like the bands that were 1/2 the thickness of the full size (my hair is too thick to use this size), but I liked the other sizes. I love wearing the full-size headbands at work (I work in a hospital), with a little hairspray it keeps my hair back for a full 12-hour shift! I use the ponytail size with a clear hairband underneath for extra support:)4
I got this ampler but gave away half of them. the headbands are not comfortable but the poy tail holders are great. even the little ones Iused for ends of french braid. I would love to see a pick what you want box???3
Works for thin hair... hard to find a product that will keep up my thin hair and this does the trick. Love the colors and the different shapes you provide. A great way to sample twistbands.5
I was so excited to order this...but the elastic stretched out after the 2nd use. My hair is too thick I guess. For me, it is only good for a loose low ponytail that I have to keep re-adjusting multiple times throughout the day. I gave 2 stars because the colors are cute.2
I bought these for my hair, because I am tired of the breaks regular hair ties produce in my hair. These are cute to wear on your wrist, and also gentle on your hair when putting it up. Great alternative to a regular hair tie, and fashionable.4
This is a great sampler pack if you want both thick and thing hair ties and a couple of headbands. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns to go with any daily outfit.5
These ties and headbands don't pull out your hair or cause major creasing. I am addicted!! I do prefer the thicker style as the thinner ones do crease the hair and little more.5
