The product that has had the most radical (positive) effect on our beauty regimen isn’t a miracle cream or a long-wearing lipstick. It’s a piece of super soft elastic. Twistbands are a permanent fixture in the Birchbox office—on staffers’ wrists, in their ponytails, and even decorating their water bottles. We’re fans because they keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. (And because they’re cute, of course.) This exclusive set includes 15 of our favorites, from lace to neon varieties, plus three holiday-appropriate headbands.
I always wondered what the big deal was. Glad birchbox sent a sample. Its the only hair tie I will use. So gentle and never pulls my hair out.5
I love these. Such fun colors and they really don't dent my hair as much as normal hairties. I normally keep my hair up, as my work life basically requires it, but after having my hair up for hours, there is noticeably less dent compared to a normal hairtie.4
This starter pack is amazing because it has pretty much every color you would ever need. They look so much cuter than the ordinary hair tie and they're actually fun to wear around your wrist. They maybe don't hold hair up as well as some more heavy duty ties, but that's a small price to pay for less damage and a much cuter look.5
When I received my first twistband in my November box, I knew I had to get more. This variety pack was the perfect solution, for a girl who always wears a boring hair tie on her wrist. Now I can jazz it up a bit, and add a bit of spunk to my hair when I pull it back. I think the headbands are my favorite...a quick and easy way to keep my mid-length, layered hair out of my face when I'm cooking, cleaning or even working out. LOVE THEM!5
I was excited to receive this in my box. It does its job but it does stretch out and thus does not stay put as well. The ends are starting to frey as well. I will continue to use them but dont think they will last as one would hope.3
I am always that girl that forgets a hair tie when i need it most and thees have saved my life. I always have one on my wrist and they don't pull or rip my hair so they are a winner for me.5
I really don't see much difference between this product and a regular elastic band - especially considering the disparity in pricing.3
I bought the sampler set and was very pleased with all the color and size options that came with it. My hair is long and thin, so the twistband started to fall out after a while, but didn't leave the dreaded ponytail bump. It also doesn't cut off the circulation on my wrist like some new hair elastics do. The different colors make for fun bracelets as well when you aren't using them in your hair.4
I heard all the hype and was excited to give these a try. They do help prevent as noticeable creases in the hair, but they just don't give my hair the support it needs. I have thick hair, so maybe they would work better for someone with thinner hair.3
So, I was actually introduced to these about a month ago when I went searching for something that would allow me to put my hair back without having to worry about breakage or unsightly creasing. Although I'd heard about the brand, I was pleasantly surprised when I received one in my sample box! These hairbands are everything they claim to be - durable, snag-free, secure - and also allow for a nice feminine touch to anything because of the twist effect at the top. It's like having a very neat bow in my hair at all times :)5
