The product that has had the most radical (positive) effect on our beauty regimen isn’t a miracle cream or a long-wearing lipstick. It’s a piece of super soft elastic. Twistbands are a permanent fixture in the Birchbox office—on staffers’ wrists, in their ponytails, and even decorating their water bottles. We’re fans because they keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. (And because they’re cute, of course.) This exclusive set includes 15 of our favorites, from lace to neon varieties, plus three holiday-appropriate headbands.
These are pretty, but aren't really functional for me. They will not hold my hair, it is too thick and long.4
My hair is on the thin side so this is not the product for me. I have used my sample twistband for the past week and the ends of the band have frayed a bit and it has fallen out of my hair on three occasions.3
I love love love Twistbands! After receiving one in my Birchbox I bought this sampler set and I am so impressed. I love that the sample set has hairbands as well as hair ties!5
I LOVE these twistbands! I really loved this set because they had the different sizes. I am obsessed with the head bands!3
I liked these hairbands for my curly, thick hair much more than I expected! I thought they would be too loose, but instead they are comfortable and stay put, while not creasing my hair. I am deducting one star, because the price is still a bit hard to swallow...4
I'm a big fan of the twistband. When I first saw it, I almost threw it out because I thought it was part of my birchbox packaging. My only negative is that my twistband arrived just a tiny bit frayed. After about a dozen or more wears, it's still in pretty good shape. It's so much better than an elastic that will leave creases and make your hair look flat.4
I recently visited California and found a set of Twistband-like knockoffs in a drugstore. I'm from the Midwest and had never seen this type of product before in a drugstore, so I was intrigued. I picked up a pack and wore them for several weeks, but they've already started to fray and snag.
Then I heard of Twistbands on Birchbox and ordered the "Best of" set.
-Twistbands seem to resist fraying better than the knockoff versions.
-Headbands are pretty great and stay in place better than your average hairband, probably due to the metallic finish giving them a bit of extra grip.
-The thinner bands get pretty stretched out with my thick hair
-Disappointing that I'm not supposed to immerse them in water due to the dying process, since I like to ensure that my hairbands are clean after wearing them to the gym.
-A bit expensive for a bit of colored elastic, no matter how cute they look on my wrist.
I love this product. It keeps my hair controlled with out leaving and marks in my hair. I will definetely be buying these.5
I got these as a sample and am going to get more! I love that wearing it on my wrist doesn't scream HAIR TIE and is actually cute. Very easy to use and not bulky!!!5
While the crease in my hair was considerably less, the sample seemed to stretch out more drastically and quickly than a regular hairband. This also made it look faded and crumpled when wearing around my wrist. Maybe I'm just harsher on my hairbands than the average Jill.2
