We know, we know: It’s a total cliché to say a beauty product smells good enough to eat. But with this body butter's variety of dessert-worthy scents, we really can’t help ourselves. Thanks to 30 percent shea butter content, this anything-but-ordinary moisturizer soothes skin but doesn’t leave a filmy layer of residue behind. And it even helps relieve rashes, dry skin, eczema and psoriasis.
I could not get over the gross smell. Fake banana. I could not even get over that to try out the product. Who wants to smell like candy?1
I received the bananas & baobabs scent in my birchbox this month and the scent is a potent, sugary sweet fake banana (think much strong than banana boat). The texture is thick but sinks in and seems that it would be a good winter moisturizer for chapped hands and rough heels, but unfortunately the scent makes me ill.1
I have purchased this product before based on a sample that I received. I was very satisfied with my first purchase, but this time, I think they must have changed the formula? The cream is no longer a light, fluffy whip, it's more of a dense paste. I don't feel that it absorbs as well as the previous cream, but instead sits on top of the skin and creates a sticky surface. Kind of disappointed.2
I got the white chocolate scent, and it smells pretty good. However, this cream is so thick (more like a balm) that it's almost impossible to use! It's very solid, and might be good for elbows or certain parts of your body, but it's impossible to use as a full body lotion, unless you have several hours to spare to work it into your skin.2
I ordered this in Pink Guavas & Pomegranate. I disliked both the scent & the texture. Despite containing actual fruit extracts, it smelled more like a berry bubblegum to me. The scent also seemed to linger, and I found it sickening. This is an extremely thick and solid creme. You will leave an indentation on the surface of the creme when scooping some out. On application to the skin, it just feels like a waxy coating. I guess it does prevent moisture loss, but I much prefer the feel of plain Vaseline as an occlusive. I returned it.2
The creme itself was great but the banana scent was VERY off-putting. I might be interested in some of the others - possibly the rooibos & berries or white chocolate!2
The banana scent is overpowering to wear. The product feels like a luxurious cream, but combined with the scent is just too thick and heavy and does not absorb into your skin enough.2
I did not like the smell or the texture of this product. It didn't moisturize my hands rather then make them really oily.2
This product smelled really good, (I got the bananas one) the lotion was ever a pretty color, but it left my skin feeling a little greasy. My skin also kept drying out again shortly after using it. I had another shea butter lotion that worked much better for me.2
The best thing about this creme is the scent. It honestly smells good enough to eat. However, I didn't find that it moisturized very well. I used it mostly on my hands but I never felt they were getting softer... and they're not rough by any means. It felt mostly like the creme sat on top of my skin as opposed to really absorbing leaving my hands still feeling dry.2
