This all-natural face wash and mask combines real African black soap—made from the ashes of plaintain and cocoa pods and prized by women around the world for its abilities to battle blemishes and the signs of skin aging—with rejuvenating South African rose hips oil to leave your face clean and refreshed. The formula is 100 percent natural, fragrance free, and gentle enough for those with sensitive skin.
I felt that the product left my face cleaner than my normal face wash- that being said, I found the smell unpleasant, and having to add the sugar for the scrub was a (minor) inconvenience. I also got some in my eye and it stung like a mother.4
I used this immediately after receiving it in the mail, and I have to say, although the smell is not exactly what I would call appealing, it works very well. I did feel the burning a bit, but when I got out of the shower and applied moisturizer, my face felt great, very soft and refreshed!4
I loved this cleanser, my skin felt soft and so clean. I definitely noticed a difference in how clean my pores were after the first use.5
While this smells really good. ...the color was really off putting to me. Doesn't lather too well and it left a weird black film on my tub. I didn't find it to be very effective.3
This is a natural product without fragrance added. It works well and is easy to use. The natural scent bothered me however. It smells ashy and smoky.3
This facewash / cleanser works really well. It's very strong (so be cautious if you have sensitive skin), and really gets the job done. After a couple of washes, skin was looking clearer, without drying out my skin4
I found it to be soft and soothing and it felt so good on my skin, after I washed it off my skin felt so hydrated and my acne cleared up:) Overall I would recommend it to anyone with dry skin who wants to really get a clean soft feeling!5
I began using African Black Soap about two years ago (I made my own by melting a black soap bar in water) and I'm so happy to see it offered as a more mainstream product. It leaves skin feeling super clean and clears pores.5
Whether I left the product on for the recommended amount of time, or rinsed shortly after applying, my skin felt clean, soft, and refreshed after cleaning with this product.4
Not a good cleanser at all. I don't recommend using it and am disappointed it was a wasted sample since I had already been sent it in the past.1
