I have never had a face wash make my face feel SO CLEAN! Literally squeaky clean I love it5
Ok so I have acne, uneven complexion and oily skin. Reading reviews this seemed like the product to try. Just got it in the mail and have tired it twice and am already noticing a difference.
First of all, yes you NEED to let this product sit for 10 minutes before rinsing off. This seemed odd to me. This is the first face wash I've ever tired; and I've tried A LOT, that said it needs to set for 10 minutes first. First time using I felt a small tingling sensation but the bottle warns this could happen. After 10 minutes I was it off and noticed right away my skin seemed smoother. 4 hours later my skin still felt clean and fresh, at this point with past cleansers my skin start to feel oils but not this time. This morning, I applied in the shower and let it sit while I did my normal routine. I applied my makeup like usual and it is holding up so much better than usual.
I'm in LOVE with this cleanser and will be purchasing the facemask very soon!
So much about this cleanser surprised me. First, it's black in color and the consistency makes me think of something on a sci-fi thriller. Second, it is strong ... my face was "squeaky clean" with less than 30 seconds of applying it, and any tiny amount of the suds burned my eyes so much that there was no way I could keep the product on my face for several minutes like the directions suggested. The final straw and really, the biggest factor for me, was the smell. For whatever reason this stuff smells like cigarette ashes to me! Three times I used it and all three times I felt like I was using ashes from the bottom of an ashtray to wash my face, the scent/odor was so strong and distinct. Yuck. I'm sorry, I tried to like this product but I couldn't.2
I like this cleanser. It smells earthy and is very deep cleaning. It leaves you with the soapy feeling on the skin which isn't a favorite of mine. The color through me off at first but it is gets the job done.2
This product was great! My face felt so fresh and clean after using this product. My skin also felt really soft while I was using this product.5
I wanted to love this soap. I've heard so much about the benefits of African black soap and I was dying to try it out. I was really thrilled that it was a natural product, and though it's definitely not fragrance free, it's also not distinctly perfumed like some face washes. However, it left my skin feeling very dry and tight, even after I applied lotion to my face after washing it. My skin-- very acne prone-- did little to change, which was a bummer because I was really hoping it would help to rid me of the pesky blemishes. Over all, I didn't hate it, I just didn't love it enough to order it again.3
I thought this product was great! It left my face feeling refreshed, and I could tell my skin had been thoroughly cleaned. I love how the product is so natural, and it was very mild on my sensitive skin!4
It was too strong for my sensitive skin. Also smelled weird2
This product is definitely worth it. It is a slimy goo, but it helps with clearing up your blemishes.5
I used this cleanser and it really sucked all the oil out of my face. I tend to leave on masks longer than needed, but have recently learned that with charcoal type they can overdry your skin. mine felt really dry afterwards, but really clean4
