Shaped like our favorite French treats, these trinket boxes are the perfect hiding places for all our secret treasures. Each is finished in brightly colored stoneware and shuts tight with an ornately decorated gold clasp. They’re almost as good as the sugary real thing.
The "rose" color is a bright pink and the clasp looks cheap. I ordered and it was delivered having fallen apart. The glue used for the clasp was cheap as had failed.1
I am rating this item 1 star because when I got it in the mail it had come unglued and came in pieces. I used my birchbox points for this point so I am not super upset about it. Quality is not the best.1
I love the box itself, but I ordered it in "light lavender", afterall what is more french than the lavender fields of Provence? However, it looks WHITE! I asked my fiance what color he thought it was and he said white, too. I even held it next to other purple colors to see if that made it look more purple, but nope. I have read other reviews that say the colors are inaccurate as well. It's also surprisingly weighty, so keep this in mind if you're hoping to keep it in your purse. Other than the color problem, it's cute and functional. I bought it to store my engagement ring in for when I go to the gym or am doing some other activity that I don't want my ring to get dirty or ruined on. However, I'm returning it because I detest the color. Unfortunately Birchbox is now out of the pistachio color. I'm ordering it directly from the manufacturer instead.1
Got this in the mail and it was extremely cute. The size was a little disappointing, but I was willing to look past it... until the clasp that keeps it shut broke two weeks later.2
I'm not sure if I may have recieved an old one or one that was previously returned. I ordered a purple box and it looks faded /almost white. Also, a layer of paint started to chip off on one side. Quality not that great.2
Well, where to start... As long as you are expecting to get something that is worth 13 dollars, then you will be satisfied. It's only ok. It's cute but not great quality. I got the lavender one which is so pale in color that it's more of a white with a slight purple tint. And there is obvious glue visible around the inside edges. The inside has a sort of dip... or ripple in the ceramic. Anyways, I didn't expect much and it is still cute and will serve it's purpose (and I wont be furious if it ends up breaking).
Side note.. shouldn't really be called a "limoge" box.. Firstly because the word is actually LIMOGES. Secondly, because that is a title reserved for porcelain boxes made in Limoges, France. They cost about 12x what this costs and as I'm sure anyone who cares would be aware that this isn't an ACTUAL Limoges box I still feel like it's misleading. Should read 'Limoges Style'
This box is adorable, but I was disappointed in the yellow color. It looks cute sitting on my vanity, but a brighter color would make it pop more!3
I was really excited about this box for storing pills. At first, it worked great (and it's obviously really cute). But a few months later, it's stopped closing tightly. I always find it open with the pills all over the bottom of my bag. I'm not sure if there's a way to make the snap tighter, but until I MacGyver something, I'm going to have to stop using it.3
I love this trinket box, but it is too small. The color of the box was a lot smaller than I had expected. I can't keep much in the box so I use it for earring backings.3
So adorable and fun to carry in my purse with small things in it (small earrings, pills, etc). I was sad that mine arrived at my house with a chip in it, and customer service wouldn't do anything about that. :(3
