It's the biggest mistake a curly-haired girl can make. After working too much gel through your strands, they resemble a bowl of uncooked fusilli: curly, yes, but also hard and crunchy. Make the switch to this unique styling lotion, which adds definition and controls frizz without leaving your hair feeling stiff. Since the formula is water-based, it won't leave any sticky residue behind—and it's also humidity-proof. Best of all, the reactivating formula is ideal for styling between washes: When you dampen your hair, the serum kicks back in to smooth down unruly strands.
It reduces frizz in my curly hair without making me feel like it looks greasy or full of product5
I got this in my birch box and immediately fell in love with the product the first time I used it. I was worried it would leave my hair greasy since it instructed me to use it on my roots aswell, but that was not the case. It calmed my frizz the entire day and left my hair with a beautiful shine! I felt like I could be in a hair product commercial!5
I have wavy hair, not curly hair, but was sent the sample anyway. It definitely made my hair less frizzy, but made it look wet and feel sort of crunchy. I think it would work well on curly hair but it definitely did not do the trick for wavy hair like mine!1
This product, I laughed when I read the directions. It's so complicated. I want to just put it on my hair and go, but no, you've got to let it dry and activate or hold your head down and let it spread from the root to the tip, etc., etc. Nevertheless, it works well and keeps the curl while shooing away the frizzies. I like it, but be careful, it comes quickly out of the packgae. It's not goopy, but straight liquid.4
This product didn't really work for me because I wash my hair at night. It left my hair feeling a bit dull and oily when I woke up. It also didn't activate my curls as much as other products do. Way too watery.2
I have very dry curly hair which responds well to many products. This one was more like I had a heavy coating that didn't give me bounce, nor great frizz control if that makes sense? I liked the large sample size since I have long thick hair but it wasn't a solution for me.2
So far, I like the lightness of this particular product. I've been using it without the assistance of any other products, and the fizz is manageable. I can't say that it gives good curl definition though, and it's not a one stop kind of product. I do like the lightness of it. I may be adding it to my hair routine. My next step is to try it coupled with a curl definer.3
I really like how lightweight this product is! It made my hair air dry perfectly!5
Because this is a water-based product, it's sensory attributes were almost non-existence. It has a texture slightly thicker than water (not goopey at all) and no smell that I could detect. It combs in your hair easily and doesn't leave residue. As it dries, it gets slightly crunchy in spots, but ultimately ends up leaving your hair soft and natural looking. I think a downside to this product is that you have to allow your hair to air-dry and that takes a lot of time. I also wasn't a huge fan of the packing because I like to be able to close products and this had a tear-open.
Personally, I would not buy this product. I have straight hair so I was very confused about why I received this product but tried it anyway. I put it in as directed and twisted my hair as it dried. I let it air dry for about half an hour but I had to resort to blow-drying because otherwise my hair would've been wet all day. I ended up with a slight wave/bounce at the ends of my hair that initially looked very Grace Kelly-esque, but it didn't hold. This product is probably true to its name as a curl maintainer/enhancer, but creating curls is not its forte. Ultimately, just not for me.
This worked great to get rid of the serious frizz I get.5
