At the end of a long day we could all use a fresh start—and the same goes for our hair. When product buildup and styling stress leave strands feeling and looking dull, this clarifying shampoo, subtly scented with white freesia, golden amber, and warm musk, gently cleanses without stripping moisture or color. Black currant and soy restore vibrancy, acai berry and vitamin C deliver youth-boosting antioxidants, oolong tea and Irish moss defend against environmental damage, and lemongrass and oatmeal gently cleanse and purify. This shampoo is also vegan-friendly and free from sulfate/sodium chloride and parabens.
Clarifying Shampoo is a tough one... It is supposed to clean the build up off your hair, but that can get a bit extreme.
The size of the sample was good - I was able to get a few uses out of it without extreme rationing. (shoulder length, thick hair)
The product itself is THICK... I found I had to rub my hands together before applying to my hair to make sure it didn't get stuck in one spot on my head. It does not get overly sudsy and is best applied when hair is soaked all the way through. I would go so far as to say that you should put it on your hair while standing under the shower head.
Then there is the smell... which is truly my first issue with this product. It does not smell good - and by that, I mean it smells bad. Full disclosure: I am particular about my smelly stuff. I don't like stuff that smells strong or smells chemically. This was both. (Actually smelled worse to me than the Masque that came with it.)
After rinsing it off my hair, my hair did not feel good. which I know can be a by product of a clarifying shampoo, but based on how my hair felt and the smell, this is not one that I would purchase for the price of a full size. If your hair needs to be stripped and you aren't sensitive to smell... then this does a pretty good job - it just isn't my thing.
This stuff, no joke, smells fantastic. Unfortunately I wasn't as blown away by the effectiveness. I mean, it's fine, but for the price of the regular size I'm not looking for fine. The fragrance alone is not enough to get me to switch from my current brand.3
I was not impressed with product. It did not seem to lather -which might be the point- not sure. But I normally wash my hair every couple of days and therefore always wash twice to really stimulate my roots and such - but this product didn't lather either time. I thoght my hair looked worse than when using my usual redken prodcut. Perhaps a bigger sample size would yield a better result as I would be more apt to use larger amount which could have been the problem. Either way I was not impressed and would not purchase this particular shampoo - but I am curious to try other Number 4 products.3
No complaints about this shampoo other than the price. I just generally feel like shampoo that costs $8 and shampoo that costs $28 do about the same on my hair...3
Wow, talk about clarifying I think my hair was stripped of all the yuck and goop that had built up on my hair, once I rinsed it out my ends litterally felt like straw it was wet but yet I could feel the dryness and damage my poor hair after following with the reconstructer my hair was soft and feeling strong and healthy and kind of like I just got a trim I wouldn't use this on a Dailey basis but for sure once a week more in the summer especially since I spend do much time outdoors at the beach and lots of swim time so I for sure would want to get the chlorine outta my hair thanks BB3
I used this separately than the mask I got in my box so I could compare results. while the mask was amazing, the shampoo wasn't. I didn't see any difference from my regular shampoo.3
This is an average shampoo. I honestly think using baby shampoo is better. I think that everyone just needs to try the sample in their box, I have fine, oily hair and this did not work for me. It smell great on the positive hand!3
I was introduced to this brand through Birchbox and I really liked the spray I got from this brand so when I received the shampoo I was really excited. It honestly didn't do much for my hair. It's like any other shampoo I would get from a drug store.3
Even though my profile says I have color treated hair they sent me a clarifying shampoo. Not a fan of this. At any rate, I did choose to try this right before I colored. Shampoo was fine, but nothing special to me.3
This product doesn't have the best smell and it's too expensive. Don't see the value.3
