At the end of a long day we could all use a fresh start—and the same goes for our hair. When product buildup and styling stress leave strands feeling and looking dull, this clarifying shampoo, subtly scented with white freesia, golden amber, and warm musk, gently cleanses without stripping moisture or color. Black currant and soy restore vibrancy, acai berry and vitamin C deliver youth-boosting antioxidants, oolong tea and Irish moss defend against environmental damage, and lemongrass and oatmeal gently cleanse and purify. This shampoo is also vegan-friendly and free from sulfate/sodium chloride and parabens.
This was an ok shampoo, didn't notice much difference to my hair after using. Smells good.2
This was my first opportunity to try a Number 4 product and I wasn't disappointed. The earthy scent is amazing. The shampoo is super thick and goes a long way. It just needs a little water to emulsify. I love that my hair doesn't feel stripped and even without conditioner, I can run a comb through my hair.4
Clarifying Shampoo is a tough one... It is supposed to clean the build up off your hair, but that can get a bit extreme.
The size of the sample was good - I was able to get a few uses out of it without extreme rationing. (shoulder length, thick hair)
The product itself is THICK... I found I had to rub my hands together before applying to my hair to make sure it didn't get stuck in one spot on my head. It does not get overly sudsy and is best applied when hair is soaked all the way through. I would go so far as to say that you should put it on your hair while standing under the shower head.
Then there is the smell... which is truly my first issue with this product. It does not smell good - and by that, I mean it smells bad. Full disclosure: I am particular about my smelly stuff. I don't like stuff that smells strong or smells chemically. This was both. (Actually smelled worse to me than the Masque that came with it.)
After rinsing it off my hair, my hair did not feel good. which I know can be a by product of a clarifying shampoo, but based on how my hair felt and the smell, this is not one that I would purchase for the price of a full size. If your hair needs to be stripped and you aren't sensitive to smell... then this does a pretty good job - it just isn't my thing.
This shampoo is the best clarifying shampoo I've ever tried. It really made my hair so much softer and really got rid of all of the build up in my hair5
This stuff, no joke, smells fantastic. Unfortunately I wasn't as blown away by the effectiveness. I mean, it's fine, but for the price of the regular size I'm not looking for fine. The fragrance alone is not enough to get me to switch from my current brand.3
Small amount goes a long way. Living in a really cold climate my hair tends to be very dry and brittle. This product helped immensely and also lasts a long time.5
I reallt felt this shampoo was able to cleanse all of the built up product out of my hair!4
I love the smell of this shampoo! However, it takes a lot to get a good lather and my hair didn't feel super soft afterwards4
Love this shampoo! It'd be nice to have to switch from my other shampoo. I love the smell and the way my hair felt for 2 days, not greasy at all.5
This shampoo makes my hair feel clean but it is also very light and doesn't feel harsh or weigh my hair down. I also really like the light, fresh scent. It doesn't lather a ton, but that doesn't mean it isn't effective.5
