Edward VII of England once referred to Cartier as "the jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers." Given the brand’s all-star lineup of scents, we’d like to add “king of fragrances” to the royal roster. With layers of pepper, sandalwood, and rose, Cartier’s classy Declaration d'un Soir is a bold and unexpected mix guaranteed to give the Birchbox Man on your shopping list the air of heirs.
I received a sample of this while shopping at a dept. store and - GOTTA HAVE IT! Light, woodsy, and citrus at the same time. Very manly smell, yet light and clean feeling. I think the brand Cartier comes through with this cologne. I will be buying this shortly.5
Although it is not a personal favorite of mine, I was not completely put off by it. I would rank in this order:
Soir < Essence < Declaration.
I received a sample of this and it smelled clean and masculine without being too strong or perfumey. I bought this for my husband and we've both been really pleased with it! It's also nice to be wearing something unique that isn't a common line in all department stores.4
I like to call myself a connoisseur of men's fragrance and I have owned plenty in my life. This however is the best fragrance I have ever owned. Thanks Birchbox!5
Déclaration d’un Soir has a very rich scent that does not overwhelm. I'm usually pretty conservative when I comes to purchasing expensive colognes but I had to splurge for this one.5
Product is an amazing fresh and not so musky scent. Definitely smelled as though I just stepped out of an amazing fragrant box that was not so strong when I started using this fragrance. Believe I will definitely be changing from Jo Malone to Declaration very soon!4
I know this is a men's cologne, but I love it. I am crazy about sandalwood and rose together. I think that it compliments both sexes. Some of the women's colognes are too floral for my tastes, but this perfectly balances floral and spice. My only con is that it doesn't last long enough.5
I'm selfish...I like to keep my Birchbox for myself. So it's always disappointing to open it to find a men's product. My husband doesn't wear cologne, so I asked my brother-in-law to sample it for me. He said that it "offended my olfactories as well as my skin." It made him itch and sneeze. All of us agreed that we didn't like the scent, either.1
When I read the description of this scent I got giddy. When I used the sample I was blown away. I love trying new scents. I also wear a few men's colognes already so I'm not afraid of crossing the gender line if I really like the way something smells. I bought this immediately.4
I gave my husband the little sample vial that I got in my BBox. I was unaware he used it one evening we were going out. Women literally followed him around and asked about it.. They said he selled fantastic. At first, I was jealous but he did smell so great that I ended up buying him a full size for Valentines'Day . It has become his signature scent! Love it!5
