It’s rare for us to find a fragrance that we love wearing year-round. It needs to be a versatile scent that’s complex enough for the fall and bright enough for the summer, but isn’t overbearing. Which is why we’re such fans of Nicole by Nicole Richie, the debut scent from the reality star-turned-perfumer. Inspired by Richie’s memory of her mother’s favorite beauty ritual—creating unique fragrances by layering bath oils, lotions and perfume—the scent is both warm and bold, with hints of smooth vanilla rounded out by the brightness of blackberry and Moroccan rose. Plus, the chic and compact art deco-inspired bottle makes the perfect addition to any purse.
I personally loved the infusion I smelled of vanilla and muskiness, but I got feedback from my boyfriend that it almost smelled like my mother's perfume (who is in her 60s.) Then I felt like I was walking around like an old woman! But - I personally kept using the sample and would love to try other vanilla musky infused scents.3
Scents/perfumes are such a personal thing! This scent is too sweet/strong for me. My preference is light, fresh smelling scents. This one is just too 'heavy' for my tastes3
This was not my favorite scent, but then again everybody has different tastes. I wouldn't mind putting it on, it doesn't smell bad or anything it just was not great.3
I like this scent, but I'm not much a perfume wearer, so the sample will last a long time for me.3
I do like the smell of the perfume overall, but it is too strong for me. It will be a nice change of scent every once and a while though for special occasions.3
I am not a big perfume wearer but I decided to try this perfume. It was nice but a bit too strong.3
I felt pretty indifferent about this product. it was a nice warm scent, but not really my type of scent that I would normally wear.3
I like the scent but as some others have said, it's just a little too sweet for me. Sometimes I do use it and I like it fairly well once it's been on awhile and tamed down. It has some nice notes, but that sweet punch in the beginning will keep me from buying.3
To be honest, this is a good fragrance, but it's just too heavy for me. I'm much more partial to lighter, more citrusy or "clean" smelling scents like DG's Light Blue. This perfume is rather musky and something I might wear to a formal dinner party, not for everyday wear.3
It has a very pleasant fragrance, however it has a bit more powdery sweetness than I prefer in a fragrance. If you like Pink Sugar or Angel you will probably like this fragrance.3
