It’s rare for us to find a fragrance that we love wearing year-round. It needs to be a versatile scent that’s complex enough for the fall and bright enough for the summer, but isn’t overbearing. Which is why we’re such fans of Nicole by Nicole Richie, the debut scent from the reality star-turned-perfumer. Inspired by Richie’s memory of her mother’s favorite beauty ritual—creating unique fragrances by layering bath oils, lotions and perfume—the scent is both warm and bold, with hints of smooth vanilla rounded out by the brightness of blackberry and Moroccan rose. Plus, the chic and compact art deco-inspired bottle makes the perfect addition to any purse.
The smell didn't really last. When you smell if out of the bottle- its really only ok.4
I usually do not go for the star backed scents but after trying this I might have to change my mind. This scent is not overpowering like many of the trendier perfumes out there can be. It has a warm subtle tone to it with a mild sweetness that can be worn at work or out to play. This is defiantly not your average fruit punch/mango -splash mixer body spray.4
I'm not a huge fan of getting perfume samples. I'm a creature of habit and only like certain scents. I decided to give this a shot because I tend to love vanilla scents. I sprayed this in the air, and on a piece of paper. It has a warm scent. Warm and sugary. I feel like if I wore this perfume I'd get a headache from it. I don't smell any rose in this. There's just something in this that ticks my nose off that this smells odd, super strong.
It smells like a warm manufactured sweet scent. It does have a bit of a floral undertones but I don't smell rose.
I did not care for this fragrance - too heavy maybe - which surprised me because reading the description of the scents in this fragrance I really thought I would like it.1
I thought this was a wonderful scent. I liked that it seemed to have multiple tones to it and I enjoyed each one. I would definitely consider purchasing this product when I am out of my current scent.4
I was just okay. Too deep and musky for me. I prefer the lighter, fruitier scents.3
I'm not a fan of this scent. It's not bad, but it's more on the floral side. I also think it's something suited more for an older lady.3
I actually enjoyed this scent, despite the fact I typically go for a floral scent. This is a sensual scent that would go well with an evening out in the summer. It's warm, mature, and and still maintains a lightness. Surprised by this as most celebrity fragrances smell this same.4
I am a big fan of Nicole and her products so I was excited to see her sample in my Feb birchbox. Still, I am not a big perfume wearer and usually find scents overly floral and overpowering. Not this one. It was light and slightly sweet (reminds me of Angel or Flowerbomb, both of which I enjoy). Couldn't stop smelling myself!
*only downfall, the sample bottle spritzer was broken and wouldn't compress, had to claw the top off
I love rose and vanilla (which are supposed to be big parts of this scent) but this scent was way too sweet for me. It got less sweet after I sprayed it on my wrist and left it for a few minutes, but still not a scent I enjoyed.3
