We like to go darker in the winter and lighter in the summer, which means our hair never stays the same hue for long. That’s why we turn to this nourishing conditioning treatment to give our strands much-needed hydration—it’s made without detrimental chemicals like parabens, sulfates, or dyes. Its natural ingredients transform dry, damaged pieces into ridiculously silky, strengthened strands clinically confirmed to resist color fading. Oh, and it shields hair from heat and UV damage too.
While I'm not a huge fan of the citrus smell of this product, it was great for my hair, leaving it incredibly soft!
My one concern is that it's marketed as "colorhold" and I don't think it did a better job helping my red color stay put better an other conditioners I've used, but reds are tricky, it might work better with other dye colors.
I am a cosmetology student, so I am constantly applying color/texture services to my hair. It has been kind of sad and crunchy lately, and this deep conditioning treatment gave me FANTASTIC results! My hair feels silky and smooth and soft for the first time in months. I left it on under a processing cap for about 20 minutes, and I applied a little heat (but the instructions say you can just keep it on damp hair for 3 minutes). I like this product, I love the way it preserved my color, and I am glad I purchased it!4
Really hydrating, and doesn't weigh my hair down. Love almost all the alterna products I've owned/tried, this one was no exception.5
Love this brand because of the ingredients. I have long color treated hair and if i'm not careful, I will get split ends. this brand has transformed my hair. love it.4
I have very, very dry, tangly and naturally curly hair. It has sun and heat damage and is color treated. I usually use a conditioner that is very heavy and most of my friends and family say it is too heavy for their hair. I want to find a replacement for my current conditioner because it isn't all natural and my color fades fast. Alterna Bamboo seemed perfect, but it isn't quite as heavily moisturizing as I like. My hair color did seem brighter and I really liked that. But it didn't detangle my hair in the shower and my hair kept tangling a little bit after it dried too. My hair just didn't have the silkiness I get from my usual hair masque. However, my hair was much curlier than usual after this masque, making me think it is reparative and would be great for most types of hair.3
This conditioner is worth the splurge! I look forward to showering bc I get to treat my hair with this product. It leaves my hair feeling soft and more healthy!5
This masque is the only conditioner I have found that I can use at the roots of my hair without leaving them feeling heavy and greasy, and it leaves my hair smooth and hydrated. It also seems to give my dark brown hair a very, very slight eggplant tint, which really enriches the color (I mix this masque with a temporary brunette color glaze which is otherwise a little more orangeish than I like, but produces really nice results along with the Alterna masque and followed by the ColorHold finishing spray).5
Love this hair masque as complement to normal hair routine. Use this at least weekly to keep hair manageable. Lots of good natural ingredients.5
This deep treatment has worked great on my dry, curly color treated hair. I heat style my hair often and this product really adds moister back in my hair.5
This deep treatment has worked wonders on my dry, brittle hair. Was about to give up and cut it all off when I heard about this product. After two treatments, my hair is so much softer, smoother and shinier.5
