When perfumer Romano Ricci set out to create an elegant ode to the classic rose, his noble intentions were foiled by a lab technician who accidently added too much cetalox, a synthetic substitute for grey amber, to the mix. The serendipitous mistake turned out for the best, since it resulted in Mad Madame, a bewitching blend of sophisticated notes and modern musky scents.
At first the scent was strong, but once i let it settle on my skin/clothes I fell in love- so did my bf! I definitely plan on purchasing :)5
I love this perfume so much I was tempted to downgrade so that no one else would want to buy it. I'd never do that, of course, but the thought crossed my mind. My new signature scent. I get loads of compliments. Think it might be something worth testing first to be sure it's compatible with your personality and style. Not for the meek - a statement, for sure.5
This perfume is definitely not for me-way too strong, especially to wear on a daily basis in an office environment.2
Received this sample in the December box. Fell in love the first day I wore it...strong scent but in a good way. Hope to try once my normal perfume starts running low. Great for a night out...got lots of compliments :)4
very nice scent, a little goes a long way. My guy wouldn't stop cuddling with me he liked the smell that much. Definitely going to buy this, it's just a bit of a price investment, to put it nicely.5
I seem to turn fragrances that have rose in them, but I love to smell this- just not on me. Plus the packaging is super cute. I would suggest trying it!3
I don't usually wear a lot of fragrance, I wore it out with friends recently. They all gave me such positive feed back that this may be my new signature fragrance.5
I did not like this sample at all. As soon as I got it I put it on and I was very disappointed. Every time I got a wiff of it it reminded my of an old lady. Way too musky for my tastes.1
This scent is wonderful, not overly musky, but a nice combination of sophistication and lightness. I think the rose keeps it from being overly heavy, yet it doesn't become too sweet and flowery. It's a great blend for someone who tends to go for more seductive perfumes.
My one criticism is that I wish it lasted longer! Perhaps it's the sample formula, but it seems that it should linger for longer.
I sampled this in last month's Birchbox, and when I first took a whiff, I thought it smelled pretty strong and generally... Not good. But when I put some on, I really grew to like it! It stayed all day and smelled better as it went on. I'd go for the full-size version if it wasn't so expensive! Still can't get over it though--smells great.5
