Take a peek in any makeup artist's kit and you'll spy a well-loved tube of Embryolisse's cult Lait-Crème Concentre. This velvety, quick-absorbing moisturizer gives skin the ultimate silky finish, thanks to generous amounts of soothing shea butter and aloe vera. Plus, it doubles as a makeup remover, post-shave soother, and all-over body lotion. Who says beauty isn't practical?
I love European skincare lines, so I was thrilled to try the Embryolisse face cream. This line is made in France, and French women are very particular about their skin. I tried a small dab on my skin and rubbed it in. It felt all right, a little greasy. I then read the ingredients. Ugh! Mineral oil (paraffinum liquidum) was the first ingredient after water! Mineral oil is derived from petrochemicals. It is cheap, greasy, and clogs pores. I will not use mineral oil on my skin. Time to scrub it off! If this is ever reformulated to exclude mineral oil, I will be the first to try it. Hopefully some of the current Embryolisse line is petrochemical-free---I will research that tonight.1
Labeling say it is a miracle product, everything from baby care to make up remover.
As a make up remover, it works decent if you have a cloth or tissue, and you scrub.
As a moisturizer, it goes onfine, but never sinks into the skin. it left me feeling tacky, with shiny skin.
It smells awful, and the smell doesn't fade.
This definitely has more shine than I like, but I like the versatility of the product. Good to travel with if you don't have much room to pack.3
this is just a little to greasy for me and made my face break out :-( its way to heavy and greasy3
This product is a great lightweight moisturizer and absorbs quickly; I particularly love the light floral scent of the cream. I would not recommend using this product several times a day to individuals who have oily skin or are prone to break-outs, as excess product does tend to sit on the top of your skin. It's best to just use this right after washing your face or showering, when your skin can absorb all of the moisturizer you put on it.
Also, the full size tube makes it more difficult to control the amount of product that comes out, which means you have to be pretty careful when you squeeze it, or else you can easily end up with more cream than you need. Even so, it's one of the only products that moisturizes my dry skin without irritating it. Will buy again!
Left my skin feeling extra hydrated and smooth. Reduced fine lines.4
This product did everything it said it would. I tend to have dry skin, but this moisturizer changed that! I was very happy with this product!4
I first heard of Embryolisse through Birchbox in 2013, and was hesitant to sample it because my skin isn't as dry as I thought it needed to be for this product to be effective. While I still don't use it as a moisturizer or primer like some are able to, I can't say enough about what an exceptional makeup remover this product is! It takes off every last hint of my makeup, from my waterproof mascara to my foundation! It is incredibly gentle and effective; I don't have to tug at my eyes at all to remove my makeup! I wholeheartedly recommend Embryolisse!5
This product is absolutely amazing! It is the perfect moisturizer that is light but also does its job! It also doubles as a primer. It keeps your makeup in place all day. I couldn't be happier!5
It is interesting to see everyone say that they hated it. I loved it. It is a great moisturizer to put on before your makeup. I have super oily skin, and it didn't make me extra shinny at all. Scent wise, I thought it was fine.5
