This eyelid primer is the Thelma to your eye shadow’s Louise. The velvety formula guarantees that colorful shadows stay bright and smudge-free for hours. Suitable for all skin types and tones, the sheer formula blends in seamlessly and doesn’t leave any kind of residue on your lids.
I've owned my fair share of eyeshadow primers. This one went on smooth and had a nice neutral base that didn't mess with any of the shadow colors.5
i love that this made my eyeshadow last all night and day! it kept my eyeshadow from not creasing or looking like it faded. thanks for the travel size!!4
I received Put a Lid on It in my last Birchbox. I wasn't sure how well it was going to work when I saw the consistency, but it really works! I've tried so many other lid primers, but this one is the best by far. My eyes shadow and eye liner stay put all day long. I've had so many compliments on my eye makeup since using this product. Will be purchasing.5
The smallest amount of this product goes a very long way. My only complaint is that the texture of my eyelid was "greasier" than normal. I would have preferred it to dry lighter. Overall, it was a good product though.4
This is ok, but not the holy grail of primers for me. Not as blendable as some others. I had to watch the corners so as not to have shadow uneveness.3
My eyeshadow stayed on for at least 6-8 hours with no problem. Put it on before I went out for the night, still there in the morning with no issues. Light weight and fragrance free.5
No a big eyeshadow person, so this product is not really part of my routine. the texture is nice, if you are looking for something like this!1
I would give theBalm Put a Lid on It a three out of five stars. I thought it was a pretty high quality product and helped my eye makeup last about 9 hours. The only downside of the product is the small sample size.4
A great primer! Not thick at all. Doesn't discolor shadow used on top of it. Helps eyeshadow really stay put. Would receommend.5
I just did a day-long comparison between this product and my favorite shadow primer, Urban Decay's Primer Potion. It pales in comparison. Put a Lid On It is thin and shiny and hard to work with when applying on the lid. It isn't a matte finish, it is shiny and very viscous (liquidy). It dried as a thin layer on my eyelid that started creasing into the lines on my lid immediately. It leaves a sticky residue much like a thin gel face mask, but impossible to remove if it gets too far into the corner of your eye. It doesn't let the shadows blend well. Overall, I wanted to like it, but it doesn't even touch the one I already use.1
