This eyelid primer is the Thelma to your eye shadow’s Louise. The velvety formula guarantees that colorful shadows stay bright and smudge-free for hours. Suitable for all skin types and tones, the sheer formula blends in seamlessly and doesn’t leave any kind of residue on your lids.
This product definitely made a difference. It will be a staple in my makeup routine, especially when I use dark shades.5
I thought this product was overly sticky and didn't allow for easy blending of my shadow. I've tried less product and it doesn't seem to lesson the effect.2
I'm much more of a minimalist. I wear mascara and occasionally other eye make up only when I'm dressed to impress and really stand out. For the most part, my glasses are my only eye need. Regardless, I've tried this product before and it worked great for my oily eye lids :)4
I fell in love with eyeshadow primers several years ago and will now never wear eyeshadow without applying a primer first. They are just absolutely necessary. I've tried several different ones and this one is pretty good. I didn't like that the hole where the primer came out was a little large so it's a little difficult to control how much comes out and I ended up squeezing out way too much... A little goes a long way with these eyeshadow primers. The one I'm currently using is Two Faced Shadow insurance which comes out much more slowly so you can control it better. I've also used Urban Decay's potion primer and Nars Smudge Proof primer which both have a sponge stick to apply it which also helps you control how much you use. In my opinion, they all do the same thing and one isn't noticeably better than another. I just like the way Two Faced comes out of the tube.4
I have used this product a few times since it arrived and it really makes my eye makeup stay put. I even fell asleep after a party with my makeup on and woke up the next morning with everything still in place.5
I got a sample of this in January's box so I have been using it instead of my normal brand (Urban Decay). I am definitely going to make the switch to the Balm product-it feels great and works very well. I fell asleep with my makeup on the other night (very bad, I know) and I woke up with my eye makeup still intact. I'm really pleased with the product.5
All right so I'm new at this whole pampering, girly girl thing. I had no idea that this type of product existed, lol. I don't typically have an issue with creasing but I am one of those people who my makeup just vanishes halfway through the night. First time ever that my eyes looked the same at bedtime as they did at the start of the night. I'm sold!4
Used the product and my shadow lasted all day! It also made my gel liner go on smoother. Pretty great product!4
I recently got the Urban Decay primer and it made such a difference on what i had already thought was good shadow. This product from The Balm (a lesser known brand, to me) is comparable. It glides on w a finger really easily and the shadow just sits right on top of it.
Good job BB!
I like this primer for the primary reason that the formula is clear! I have a tan skin tone, so most "skin tone" primers do not match my eyelids. The clear formula makes it easier for me to wear eyeshadow without worrying if the primer is completely covered up.5
