This eyelid primer is the Thelma to your eye shadow’s Louise. The velvety formula guarantees that colorful shadows stay bright and smudge-free for hours. Suitable for all skin types and tones, the sheer formula blends in seamlessly and doesn’t leave any kind of residue on your lids.
I'm a MAC eyeshadow girl and I currently use a Mary Kay lid primer so when this came in my box I was Super excited to test it out. Unfortunately, I'm not as impressed as I was hoping. My shadow is blending by afternoon and my colors aren't as vibrant.3
I don't like to spend a lot of time putting my makeup on in the morning, so it seemed when I applied this I had to wait a little bit for it to dry so that I could apply my eyeshadow. But the product was creamy and spread super easy, which is nicer than some other eye makeup primers I have tried.3
I wasn't super thrilled after using this product. It kind of seemed like an extra step for me, as I usually don't apply primer to my eyelids. I have very oily skin, and by the end of the day my eyshadow and eyeliner kind of looked the way it always does.
I'm sure that this is a very nice primer, it just wasn't for me. I think that if the user had dry to normal/combination skin, they may have better results with this product
My eye shadow didn't go on evenly after using this product. Maybe I didn't use the product right.2
This product works wonders on oily eyelids. For those of you who complained, try using just a small amount. A little goes a long way. No smudging or creasing!5
My eye makeup started to breakdown and crease after 8 hours. I have used other primer that gave me 12+ hours of wear, so I was not impressed.2
I've been using BareMinerals primers because I like their shimmery bases, but this smooth, matte primer held my shadow much longer. A little goes a long way and I didn't have to reapply shadow between work and an evening outing. Strongly recommend!5
I've never primed for eye shadow before and wow, what a difference it makes! This product is like glue for eye shadow- but in a good way. :)5
I'm on the fence about this product. I have oily skin. This product definitely works better than what I was using, but I did notice that I still have creases in my eye makeup late in the day (albeit less noticeable creases).3
I'm very picky about primers, and this is a good one. Some primers are too greasy for me, but this isn't, yet it does feel like it has some moisturizing to it. Besides texture, it really does work and keeps my makeup crease free all day. I still prefer Urban Decay or Mary Kay primers, because they are slighty drier which I think allows for richer color. I'd still recommend/consider The Balm primer though.4
