In a perfect world, we'd have time to shampoo our strands more than once a week. (We’d also sleep eight hours a night and hit the gym instead of the snooze button.) But for all those occasions when life intervenes, this revitalizing dry shampoo is our secret weapon. The powdery formula revives second-day strands and beyond, absorbing excess oil to provide instant lift.
It seems like there's no way to edit my original review, so I'm just writing a new one. When I first got this in my box, I didn't know a lot about dry shampoo. I used it, and it seemed way too heavy and stiff. Now I know more about dry shampoo, and I really love it. It has a pretty steep learning curve, but I love it. You just have to know how to use it properly: hold the can about 10" away form your roots and spray VERY LIGHTLY. Seriously, use as little as possible. A very little bit goes a very long way. I wish the can was designed to spray a lighter stream. Work in sections. After you have finished spraying, wait two minutes for it to dry. It may look a bit white, but don't worry. After two minutes have passed, hit all the areas you sprayed with the shampoo with a hair dryer set on high, and use your fingers to work the product into the roots of your hair, then brush through your hair.
I use it right after I have washed and dried my hair, and it keeps my hair clean for two days. It also gives extra body and lift to my hair, which I like because I have very fine hair, and it can look pretty flat sometimes. One star off because it's a bit difficult to use, and I wish they had designed the can so that the product came out in a finer stream when you spray it.
I'm so glad I was given a sample of this before I ever had the chance to contemplate buying it, because it was junk. I've tried about a dozen different dry shampoos and I don't think I paid more than $21 for any of them. So, being priced at $25 was a strike against this product before I even tried it. When I actually did use it "unimpressed" would be an understatement. I sprayed a section with about the same amount I have applied with other dry shampoos and I couldn't tell the difference. I had to spray A LOT for it to be effective and because of that, you could tell it was in my hair because my hair is dark brown. I ended up having to wash my hair. I gave it to my sister to try and she didn't like it either.
I would definitely recommend other dry shampoos, like Klorane's Gentle Dry Shampoo ($20), amika's Perk Up Dry Shampoo ($21), or even Bastiste's Dry Shampoo ($8), which comes in different shades.
I had the sample and loved it and just purchased the "full size" product. (it's not a very big bottle) but I use it in the morning after I style my hair. It adds volume to my roots and keeps my super fine/thin blond hair from looking greasy by the end of the day. It smells nice too!5
I like it, it just makes your hair really dry so make sure that your hair is a little oily. It does give your body though.3
I think this is the PERFECT dry shampoo for curled hair, volume, or putting your hair up. If you are going to wear your hair straight and down, it might not be right for you. It does really have an impact on texture, which is where I think the negativity is coming from. If you're looking for silky straight second day hair, this probably isn't the dry shampoo for you.
But if you're looking for waves, curls, or volume: it is so so so perfect. Sometimes I use it even if my hair is clean, just for volume and texture. It lets me go a lot longer without washing my hair, too. I'm on day 3 right now and have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair today. I'm wearing it down and curled.
I bought this because I say a tutorial and they used it. I have been searching for a dry shampoo for, well forever! This one is gross. Left my hair unmanageable, stiff, smells horrible... worst ever! :(1
I use a dry shampoo every other day and this was great to use through my ends. It really gave a nice texture and shine to my hair.5
I dont even remember if it worked well or not. I couldnt get past the smell! Yuck!2
I had never used a dry shampoo before sampling this one but I'm so happy that I did. The smell is so, so wonderful and it soaks up any oiliness in my hair in an instant. I find that if I spray it on about a foot or two away from my scalp and just let it set it works wonders. I don't follow the instructions on the container, to spray, let set and then finger comb through your hair--I find that it creates a weird texture in my hair if I finger comb it. I just leave it alone and when I touch my hair later, it's non-greasy, full of volume and still soft. I even use this sometimes if I need a little volume... works beautifully! I typically have no volume whatsoever so it's nice to find something that can give my hair a little boost.4
I am constantly in search for the perfect dry shampoo. It may be that I have very fine hair but this dry shampoo was not for me. It did give my hair volume, though. Maybe on different texture of hair it works better, but it left my hair feeling sticky and dull looking.2
