In a perfect world, we'd have time to shampoo our strands more than once a week. (We’d also sleep eight hours a night and hit the gym instead of the snooze button.) But for all those occasions when life intervenes, this travel-sized bottle of dry shampoo is our secret weapon. The powdery formula revives second-day strands and beyond, absorbing excess oil to provide instant lift.
I love dry shampoo, as a girl with bangs it's a necessity, but I'm not a huge fan of this one. On the positive side, I have blonde hair and didn't notice any white flakes or greyish tint. On the negative, I had major static electricity issues after using this. Not a big fan of aerosols or the smell either.2
The scent is great and the product seemed to camouflage the dirtiness/greasiness fairly well but it made my hair's texture become incredibly rough and tangled. I couldn't use my fingers to distribute the product as directed and I could barely get the brush through. I'll stick with Beyond the Zone (only $8 for a full size container)2
For extra fine hair it is best to use sparingly. I also didn't wait the full 2 minutes before brushing out -that may be why it worked well for me. It did not give me (more) grey hair!
Overall I like it!
I tried using the dry shampoo on a work day; I hadn't washed my hair in a day and a half and thought this would be the perfect time to try it out. I followed the instructions perfectly, flipped my head over and brushed out the access powder and my hair felt...just...gross. My hair is healthy and soft naturally and this stuff made it feel like fake hair on a wig covered in powdery gunk. Yuck. It was hard to manage and I had to put it up and deal with a heavy, tangled mess all day. I will only ever use this sample if I am desperate...like out-in-the-wilderness-no-shower desperate. No bueno.1
This was the worst dry shampoo I've ever used, and have tried quite a few....my hair felt and looked like straw!1
I like many others was excited to try a new dry shampoo. I have dark hair, and there are so few products that don't leave white residue. Well, this one is NO exception. I couldn't get the white dried on powder look out of my hair. It made my hair feel like straw, I couldn't put a comb through my hair let alone a brush after using it and the smell was just terrible and overpowering!! It was VERY disappointing!!!1
I have only tried a couple dry shampoos and i have to say this is by FAR the worst product I've ever tried - hair, make-up skin care seriously the WORST. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and normally it's perfectly fine but seeing as how I was on day 2.5 of "old" hair I figured it'd be a good chance to try this out. It was horrendous i followed the instructions and was left with a white residue and a nappy mess (I have wavy, slightly thick, short hair). I could not get a brush or comb through it and was forced to put it up with what felt like a film over my whole head. It took three shampoos to get the product out and I use a strong well known drugstore clarifying shampoo. In a word this product is AWFUL!1
This stuff smells awesome!!! And the shine from the oil is gone but my hair felt somewhat stiff and tacky after its use. Maybe I was just spraying too close. Either way the pros out weigh the cons. Ill prolly buy a bottle after I run out of the size I got in my box! Cheers!3
I was SO excited to get this in my BirchBox, as I love trying out new dry shampoos. But this stuff was awful!
After shaking up the can quite a bit, when I first sprayed it on my hair, it came out very liquidy. I shook it some more and sprayed around the rest of my roots.
I let it dry for about a minute or so, and I noticed I could not even brush my fingers through my hair, this stuff made my hair very sticky and stiff. It also left a ton of white powder - I looked like George Washington! I have light strawberry blonde hair, too, so to see white on my hair is not something I'm used to with a dry shampoo.
Even after brushing through with my brush, my hair was still unmanageable. I'll be sticking with Dove!
The only thing I liked about this was the scent. It does smell pretty fresh, and kind of reminds me of Bath and Body Works "Moonlight Path."
It is not bad but I prefer powder dry shampoos. I wonder if the alcohol is drying to my hair.3
