In a perfect world, we'd have time to shampoo our strands more than once a week. (We’d also sleep eight hours a night and hit the gym instead of the snooze button.) But for all those occasions when life intervenes, this travel-sized bottle of dry shampoo is our secret weapon. The powdery formula revives second-day strands and beyond, absorbing excess oil to provide instant lift.
This did not work well for me. After spraying it on my roots (hair had been washed approx 20 hours before) and letting it "set" for the recommended two minutes, I tried to comb through my hair. As soon as I started combing, the ends of my hair started to rise - it was exactly like the static electricity effect you would get when you would rub a balloon over your head when you were a kid. This is not the style I am after, Serge.
As other reviewers have said, this product dries very stiff, and it was difficult to get a comb through my hair - my hair is very fine, so maybe this just is not the product for me; perhaps it is meant for very thick hair.
The scent is strong - not bad, but a bit like a hairspray I remember my grandmother wearing. It would definitely compete/clash with any perfume you choose to wear with it.
If you are looking for a dry shampoo, I recommend the powders from another brand on this site (I would mention the brand name, but since the review guidelines ask us not to, I won't. Just search for "dry shampoo clary sage").
I think this is nice product for adding volume but definitely not like other dry shampoos I've tried. I have fine shoulder length hair, I applied the product according to the directions on the back and my hair was so sticky I could barely get a brush through it. I think just a few sprays at the roots next time will do the trick.3
I looked forward to trying the product but it left white residue in my hair after I combed my hair. I'll pass on using this product again. .1
I always wanted a dry shampoo so I was excited when this came in my March box...It works really good! I'm going to buy the big size for sure!5
I received a sample of this product in my latest Birchbox and was excited to see if this dry shampoo worked better than my favorite, Oscar Blandi. After application, I regretted ever using this in my hair. It made my hair dirty and sticky. I would definitely recommend passing on this product.1
I am in love with this product! the smell is SUPER strong, that's the only thing I would change if I could.5
Smells ok, a little strong, but left a white flaky mess in my (dyed) black hair...I ended up having to wash it to get the flakes out :(1
While this has a good smell and seemed to work for a bit, it is definitely not something i would rely on if my hair was really in need of a washing.3
When I sprayed it in my hair I thought I would never get my comb through it. The smell is terrible. Lingers forever!1
I'm an avid believer in not washing your hair everyday. In fact, I typically go three days between washes so I'm always looking for a great dry shampoo for those days when your hair needs just a little pick me up. I was really excited to try the Serge Normant brand after watching Katia's hair video so once I received my Birchbox, I had to try it the next day. While this dry shampoo smells amazing, much better than the many brands I've tried, it leaves a powdery residue in my dark hair. I'm going to continue to use it to see if I can make it better because I hate not fully using a product that is said to be wonderful! :)3
