In a perfect world, we'd have time to shampoo our strands more than once a week. (We’d also sleep eight hours a night and hit the gym instead of the snooze button.) But for all those occasions when life intervenes, this travel-sized bottle of dry shampoo is our secret weapon. The powdery formula revives second-day strands and beyond, absorbing excess oil to provide instant lift.
I hate bad reviews, and this is only so long to justify it.
I ended up with two bottles of this stuff after friends got them in their boxes and hated it, too. I love dry shampoos so I was excited to try a high-end product.
First, I would advise anyone who does not have blonde, white, or warm gray hair to never use this. I have bright red hair and I thought I was going to have to wash my hair before I left the house to get this stuff off, which totally defeats the purpose of dry shampoo.
Second, it works for volume, but it's sticky. This stuff was so sticky it made little globs on my hair, like when people WAY overdo the hairspray. And I couldn't just brush it through my hair because the sticky made my fine, curly hair get tangled up. I got the globs and white out by rubbing my head with the heels of my palms. This took about 10 minutes. Might be great for a wedding, dance, clubbing, pageant, or an Amy Winehouse costume party, but not for normal wear.
Third: smells really weird.
Lastly, the packaging of this product really annoys me. Normally I'm pretty indifferent to product design but I would have never picked this stuff out of a store. It looks like something my grandmother would have bought out of a 1980s AVON book.
Luckily I work in a place where I can leave products in the bathroom with a note of recommended use and they find a new home.
Having thin and oily hair that generally falls flat (without product!), I'm a huge fan of dry shampoos and I was excited to try this. While it definitely gives you volume and lift, it was overall just too sticky and coarse, making it difficult to spread around and also feel like it was sufficiently absorbing the oil (without adding more product).2
I have thin hair so I'm always on the hunt for a good dry shampoo. This one smells great but leaves my hair greasy and oily.2
Ok, so I'm not sure if I just didn't use it right or what but I had like stick up straight hair. I loved this product for the fact that usually if I'm not washing my hair it's going in a ponytail. I have very fine hair and have constant anxiety that my scalp is showing. This gave such amazing texture that my ponytail looked styled. However, there is no way I could spray this, brush my hair and wear it down. I'd look like I stuck my finger in the socket.4
This didn't seem to have any affect on my hair. It may have given a bit of lift, but did not absorb any oil. I'll stick with baby powder.2
I have never found a dry shampoo that works for my brunette hair. When I used Serge Normants Dry Shampoo it sprayed on white and I had to comb out the color to avoid my hair from looking grey.
I will use it only if I am running late and do not have time to wash, dry and style my hair.
The product worked really well. The only thing I didn't like was the scent. I felt I could not wear perfume with it because the scent was so strong.4
This made my hair: Dirty, sticky, ugly, awful. I had to wash my hair immediately after using this because it looked so awful. It was basically like hairspray with a grey-ish color to it.1
I hate giving bad reviews but I feel that I owe it to my fellow girls. If I'm going to recommend products then I feel I have to discuss the ones I think should be avoided as well. On that note I'm am not a fan of dry shampoos at all, because I can never seem to find one that does what it says it will. I continue to try them because I believe that washing your hair too often is not necessarily good for its overall health. My hair is naturally oily but it always seems to come out dry, coarse and overly fried whenever I use a dry shampoo. This one was no different. I even asked my brother his opinion and he said it felt harsh and weird. When any guy makes a comment about a beauty product good or bad, that says a lot.1
I like to use dry shampoo on my full bangs because of all the oils on my forehead. As for this product, it works very well. The only thing i dont like about it is the scent. Which doesnt linger, good news for this girl!4
