With their flawless finishes and chip-free staying power, gel manicures have taken the salon world by storm. But there’s no denying that this trend has a few shortcomings—namely, damaged nails and a premium price tag. Thankfully, we now have another option: Deborah Lippmann’s brand new Gel Lab manicure set. This DIY gel mani kit offers the same high-gloss perfection without any downside.
I'm not sure if those who have trouble with this product aren't using it correctly, but I used it with the cheapest color I could find at the drug store, and five days later, it was still perfect. The only reason I took it off was to change colors. I even scrubbed a cast iron grill with not a chip. This stuff is well worth the price.5
Super shine and lastibility. It stays shinny. You should get a good week out of this! I really like this product. I use it with my quality lacquers.4
Do not waste your money on this product. I've used it a few times and have the same bad results.
I paint my nails at night, then by the time I'm done preparing/cleaning breakfast it's chipped off in big sheets! Not even small chips that you can deal with--1/4 nail sized sheets.
I love this product and how long it last on my nails. Its not as good as gel manicures but it also doesn't cause any damage. Well worth the money.5
I bought this product thinking it would be a great alternative to getting a gel manicure at the salon. However, it did not last more than 2days.1
While this definitely isn't as "rock hard" as UV gel manicures that wreak havoc on my nails, it is a great set for a manicure to last more than a day or 2. I take it & one of my favorite colors to my local nail salon & walk out with a manicure that lasts through the rigors of travel. Worth the extra price to know that my manicure will withstand the week!4
I have used this product three or four times and it seems to do the job. Hasn't left my nails yellow like some of the users have described. However, since I'm a nurse and wash my hands a hundred times a day, when the nail polish starts to chip it comes off in sheets.4
So I used this and my nail polish still chipped in a day or two. I haven't tried again with a different kind of nail polish yet though so I'm optimistic that it will work better.3
I have heard people rave about this product so i finally made the investment. I am so disappointed - it comes up in huge pieces by day two. Not only does it come up, but it damages the surface of my nails when it does.1
I love Deborah Lippmann products, and I love the idea of getting a gel-like manicure without the UV light. Well, my manicure lasted for about three or four days with this product before my nail polish started to peel and crack. I expected at least a week! But since I cannot make a regular manicure looking fresh and shiny past a day or two, I will still use this product.4
