Infused with notes of grapefruit and black pepper, this unisex blend is so distinguished we think it deserves a Michelin star (or two). Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses fresh fruity and floral notes to transform a base of musky Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is totally addictive. Think of it as molecular perfumery.
So excited to own a bit of Atelier Cologne Mistral Patchouli! Such a powerful and enticing smell! When I wear this I feel the need to let my inner hippy shine!4
This scent is super sexy. My husband put it in as soon as the box arrived and I wanted to snatch it from his fingers. It is not heavy and spicy but light and masculine. It smells clean and fresh but the bottom note has sensual aspect to it. Hope to see more from this line in future boxes. A great first date fragrance.4
At first when I smelled this I thought it smelled awful. Then I smelled it again later over and over and thought maybe I could do this scent. I ended up wearing it one day to work and kept obsessively smelling my wrist and loved it and having everyone around me smell it. It's not something I would normally wear.
Two problems though. 1) I don't like the sample packaging-having to pull the top off, because when I put it back in the bottle it splashes everywhere. 2) I probably won't buy this ever, because it's so expensive. Maybe I'll ask for it for a gift.
I liked this and it would certainly be something different for me, but the price is a bit of a deterrent. I think I will be using the sample, but passing on this specific full size.4
It wouldn't be my first choice in terms of perfume, but I do like the smell. It's got a rich, almost musky smell to it that would be perfect for a night out. All in all, I'd use the sample but probably not purchase the item.4
So everyone is different! On me, it first smelled like a tube of lipstick..... I was like hm, I don't know about this.. A little later it had a citrus/earthy scent, and the final smell is kind of powdery. It smells good! But I wouldn't go out and buy this. I really like earthy more masculine scents rather than feminine, so I would say this is right in between. Once the sample is done I'll most likely forget about it, so it gets a 4 star.4
Pros: Very concentrated- a very small amount will last even through a shower! Smells like a very high quality perfume and has no floral aroma.
Cons: I'm not personally a fan of the scent. I like dark, deep scents, but this is a little "woodsy" for me. Maybe too much black pepper?
This is by far the best smelling cologne I have used in a while. It is definitely a woodsy aroma, which is a wonderful change to the flowery colognes currently out there.4
When I first saw the word "patchouli," I had that instinctive gag feeling. You know the one, the one where you're around too much tie-dye and unbathed people? Anyway, this is NOT the patchouli of outdoor concerts and unruly facial hair. This is perfect. You know when you get a gift from a high-end department store and you open the box and get a whiff of the most pleasant and clean smell? This is that smell. The smell of luxury--classic, clean, and bright, just perfect for the summer. I love this.4
This is my new favorite cologne, The wife likes it too. It has a little kick, it's not sweet like many other modern scents.4
