Infused with notes of grapefruit and black pepper, this unisex blend is so distinguished we think it deserves a Michelin star (or two). Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses fresh fruity and floral notes to transform a base of musky Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is totally addictive. Think of it as molecular perfumery.
This is a nice fragrance and not just for men -- this will work equally well on a woman (my wife seems interested in stealing this from me). I do not really consider this a Patchouli, so Patchouli fans may be disappointed. Design and branding is appealing, but at the price-point I am expecting a little more complexity. Still, I am now interested in exploring more of the line.4
This is very woodsy/floral, it's quite strong in small amounts, plus it does manage to last through an 8 hour day except it does fade, you can still catch a small whiff off the skin towards the end of the day. Good stuff, really pricey though.5
Hits all the usual standards, lasts long and fragrant without being overpowering.
It all depends on whether you like that woody, earthy type of cologne or not.
this is a nice scent, but didn't mix well with my chemisty to make me love it.5
I was a little disappointed with the sample size (also because it wasn't sprayable) but the scent itself was very good - very manly. My girlfriend was a fan as well.4
Warm, crisp scent. Stays on the skin. Well blended to enjoy the patchouli without smelling like a hippy.4
loved the smell. had great fragrance without being overpowering5
Really like the smell (and so does my wife). Little pricey for me.3
but not that great either. its a very STRONG scent. so be prepared to use a tiny amount, or fear being one of "those guys" that you can smell coming from 50 feet away.3
I'll preface this by saying that I am a huge cologne fan/collector, and have probably near 60 full sized bottles in my collection, along with about 200+ samples, etc. And, thanks to the previous Birchbox I was introduced to the house of Atelier. I'm not a fan of patchouli and this cologne is very heavy in it, obviously. It is nice, but given that's it's an EDC rather than an EDT (eau de toilette), the essential oil concentration is much less, making it last a tad over 2 hours on my skin. Atelier makes a wonderful assortment of EDCs, and I highly recommend the orange one and the neroli one.4
