Infused with notes of grapefruit and black pepper, this unisex blend is so distinguished we think it deserves a Michelin star (or two). Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses fresh fruity and floral notes to transform a base of musky Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is totally addictive. Think of it as molecular perfumery.
I am not a fan of masculine perfumes so this was not the scent for me. It is quite strong and I couldn't muster up the courage to actually wear it! Sorry, not for me!1
This was an interesting addition to my July box. I don't typically wear a lot of perfume during the summer, as I have not been able to find a scent that could last throughout the sunny days of perspiration. Although as I enjoyed the scent, but it could not withstand the summer day.3
Very pungent and not suited to me. The smell was overpowering and would not go away despite being wiped with warm water2
This is more "noxious fumes" and less cologne. Had a headache as soon as I put it on. Way too masculine and musky. I thought I could trust Birchbox with the scents I like because last month's "Something Blue" was so amazing, but I think now I'll be unchecking the perfume box on my beauty profile. Sad!1
It wouldn't be my first choice in terms of perfume, but I do like the smell. It's got a rich, almost musky smell to it that would be perfect for a night out. All in all, I'd use the sample but probably not purchase the item.4
It is too outdoorsy. It literally smells like it was made from a sweaty man. I hated this product. And kind of aggravated that it was even an option in a box.1
So everyone is different! On me, it first smelled like a tube of lipstick..... I was like hm, I don't know about this.. A little later it had a citrus/earthy scent, and the final smell is kind of powdery. It smells good! But I wouldn't go out and buy this. I really like earthy more masculine scents rather than feminine, so I would say this is right in between. Once the sample is done I'll most likely forget about it, so it gets a 4 star.4
Pros: Very concentrated- a very small amount will last even through a shower! Smells like a very high quality perfume and has no floral aroma.
Cons: I'm not personally a fan of the scent. I like dark, deep scents, but this is a little "woodsy" for me. Maybe too much black pepper?
Wow, seems "old school" but in a modern way...though lay confused yet?
I'm a bit of a cheapo, but the $70 is worth it, plus you just need a dab to smell like a million bucks!
Just buy it, you won't be disappointed..
This is by far the best smelling cologne I have used in a while. It is definitely a woodsy aroma, which is a wonderful change to the flowery colognes currently out there.4
