Infused with notes of grapefruit and black pepper, this unisex blend is so distinguished we think it deserves a Michelin star (or two). Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses fresh fruity and floral notes to transform a base of musky Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is totally addictive. Think of it as molecular perfumery.
This smells amazing but it is easy to use too much. If you go with the recommended, 'drop on your wrists and neck' than it will be just the right amount.5
When I first opened this product, the smell was just too strong. I like fragrances that are lighter and have a fresh/flowery scent. This one was just too musky for me unfortunately.3
I got the orange scented perfume a few months ago in a Birchbox and loved it. This scent is great as well, though I prefer the orange scent.4
The fragrance was nice....but not something that I would wear.3
Okay...so I've never really liked patchouli scented things. I consider myself a pretty bohemian woman so I love earthy scents. When I first put this on my skin I did not like the top notes, it was too overbearingly "patchouli" scented. However, after a couple hours I sniffed myself and I loved the middle and base notes! Great perfume that you can actually smell the complexity as time goes on.5
This scent is just not for me. It smells like me grandma which is fine on her but I don't want to smell like that.1
This scent is probably my least favorite that I've gotten in a box. It is not a summer scent at all and is too strong for my tastes.3
This scent is a bit too masculine for me. I like floral/clean scents and this is way too heavy. I gave it to my boss however and she loves it.1
The patchouli scent stayed on for a full day, but I'm not a huge fan of how it smells4
I received the sample in my birchbox this month. In my opinion, this is just as it reads--this is a cologne, not a perfume. Now, I wear men's deodorant and a unisex perfume on the regular, but if you're looking for something summery and feminine, this isn't it. I do like the smell, and it lasts a long time, but I'm not in love with it. It's very woodsy, and I like my fragrances to be a little lighter. That's not to say I haven't worn it every day since it came in the mail and I could end up talking myself into buying it. This could be a great scent for tromping around the woods like Grizzly Adams in the fall--which I sometimes do.4
