We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.
I was excited when i ordered this emery board because how pretty the floral pattern looks. But please be aware that this pretty pattern is printed on a piece of paper-like emery board. The sand paper actually peels off of the spongy middle piece. Not only that, when i first used it, i scratched off the rough sandy part of the paper exposing the white paper underneath. I wish i could post picture because i don't explain this very well. So all i have left now after first use is half peeled emery board with scratched parts that are not useful anymore because it loses the sandy part of it.1
I'm not sure why this file is getting so much praise... probably because it's cute (which I agree) but this file does nothing for me. I have pretty think nails so maybe thats my issue but when I use this file it does not work well filing down my nails. The abrasive part seems to vanish after two pulls back and forth and eventually causes me to 'file' my nails with the background paper- which does nothing! I would not buy this product again and do not recommend buying unless you just want compliments on how cute your nail file looks.1
This emery board is so cute, but it seems cheap and not up to the standard I expect from birchbox. I've had mine three weeks, kept it in its protective case, and the emery part is already lifting and it's falling apart. :(1
Cute design, but I got one use out of it and had to throw it away after trying to use it a second time...not enough bite left on the Emory board. Pretty, but not effective.1
Why do I want this? A single, floral-patterned emery board. It's also too rough and rips your nails apart. I ended up using it on my cat's nails. But I felt very fashionable while doing so...1
Do not purchase this. You are better off going to walmart and buying a cheap one. This fell apart after only a few uses. The grit also wore off after only a few uses. I've had cheap emery boards last 10 times longer than this. I'm glad it was free. I would have be really disappointed if I had paid for it.1
Least effective emery board ever. I think I got one or two uses of it before it lost the course texture and became just something cute to look at and useless in function. I threw it away promptly.1
Not sure why this has as many stars as it does. For what it is, it's pretty pricey, and what it is is a very adorable nail file which will only last a few uses. The finish on it just really doesn't hold up to the task of actually filing nails. I wouldn't buy it (unless you're looking for a purely decorative item).1
I was happy to have a small nail file I could throw in my go to bag. However after just a few uses, there was no file left to use. I don't have hard or fake nails, either. glad this was a freebe.1
This nail file did not do it's job! It seemed flimsy on the edges and was worn out after just a few uses.1
