Madewell for Birchbox Nail Emery Board

We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.

WHY

Why would an emery board even make the box? I'm not willing to overpay 4 dollars for an emery board just because it has flowers on it. On top of that the board was peeling from the edges of the hard backing as soon as I took it out of the plastic encasement.

Only one side works

Not thrilled with this emery board. Only the flower side works as the other one is just a standard piece of paper material. Rather disappointed, especially with the Madewell name attached to this product.

Hard to use

This emery board was very hard to use. It could not get my nails shaped like the inexpensive ones I buy in the stores can.

Flimsy quality

I used this emery board just a few times and it began coming apart immediately. Cute, but virtually useless.

Who shot the couch?

I always appreciate having a nail file within reach, but after a few tries with the Madewell board, I had to give up. The grit seemed too heavy, & the design made the board skip & catch unpleasantly at my nails. It was awfully large, which made it hard to handle & not particularly handy to stash just anywhere. The eighties/early-nineties print did *not* endear--is this a "pretty new pattern?" No thanks, all around.

Good for One Use

This seems to have a pretty high review. So maybe mine was "faulty" but I am nail obsessed, and the grit on this came off on my first use. i have used 99 cent emery boards in the past that have lasted longer. At first I though it was just the usual white lines over the design, but nope, the grit was completely gone, and as smooth as a baby's bottom. Again from the 4 star average it looks like maybe this was just me, but I was not impressed.

I wouldn't pay 50 cents for this

this file is NOT worth $5!! I would never ever purchase this. I have files that cost less and are still useful. This file fell apart after one use, the paper started peeling.

Found this emery board deficient.

I received the emery board as part of my Birchbox gift. It fell apart after only 3 uses. Very disappointing

I was disappointed by this emery board, it did not file well and was to thick. I would not purchase this!
