We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.
The design on the file was very cute but overall this was not as sturdy as I would have liked.2
I got this in my birchbox and was kind of dissapointed. I use emory boards a lot and I like my stronger than this one. it just seemed kind of weak and seems like it wont last long.2
I was really excited when I saw this in my birchbox since a girl's always gotta have a nail file. The adhesive didn't work and the file was all bubbly. I used it like 3 times and the grit was all gone. For $5 I think there are better files out there.2
As far as nail files go, I loved the look of this one, but not the durability. The filing paper is peeling off of the board and ripping along the edges. I did like the carrying case though, so while I ended up tossing the file, I kept the case and just use it for a better quality nail file.2
But it wore down after one use. The flower print was completely amazing, but all of the rough pebbles wore off after one use.2
The nail file has a pretty little flower pattern and a nice clear sleeve, but it's just a nail file, and it works nicely as one, but I would not pay $5 for one file.2
While I loved the fun pattern on the board I would never trade my 20 for 2 dollar pack of emery boards for this one. It did not seem to have enough roughness to shape my nails like the cheap ones do.2
The Madewell inspired nail emery board was such a surprise in my box. Although I am not the most talented nail technician , I do enjoy shaping manicuring every once in a while. This emery board was extremely cute but the condition of the board suffered by its third use. The sides started to come apart from each other and the board began to tear. I think it would be an improvement if the rough side had more of a distinction from the smooth side.2
I was really disappointed that this was one of my samples. It's a pretty emery board, but you can get one anywhere and it's definitely nothing "new" to me.2
I have long, strong nails so I maintain nail files everywhere, just in case. I used this file twice and the grit was already starting to come off. But my friends with thinner nails are still enjoying the Madewell files they've got. Maybe it just works better with thinner nails.2
