We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.
I loved the pattern and the little sleep that the emery board came in, but it wore out very quickly. I don't file my nails really often but after two good files it was pretty much done. I would love to see something similar that is a bit more hearty!3
I initially loved this file, had great ridges for my nails. However, after a few months of usings it, the print on 1 side is now coming 'unglued' so to speak and peeling off. I do keep it in my car, so maybe the heat has undone it, but I've had others in my car and its never been a problem.3
I do my nails all of the time so I go through emery boards like crazy. However, this is probably the least effective nail file I have ever used. It is however, the cutest one I have ever used. I just didn't think it was "rough" enough to file y nails.3
This emery board is pretty to the eye, but serves the purpose of tethering down nails just as well as any other emery board.3
To me, an emery board is an emery board. I never file my nails but I did throw this in my makeup bag and actually needed it. It got the job done and it is much prettier than the plain old orangey/brown ones. That being said, I'd never spend money on a product like this!3
I am addicted to nail files. I have one at work, one at home, one in the car, one in my handbag. I can never have enough so I was super excited when this came in my Box. It looked great, it was different, and it was a nail file. My only bummer was that it didn't last that long - or maybe I file my nails too much :)3
I liked the design of the file - it's very pretty - but the file is so fine that after a couple of uses the file has worn to the point where it is close to useless. I have relatively soft nails and haven't experienced this problem with other brands of files.3
I used to think every emery board is the same until I got this one. I like the design however it's not rough enough to really file my nails. I wish it was grainier. It does the basic job, but it isn't my first choice. If you prefer a "softer" emery board with a cute design this is for you.3
These files are adorable to look at, but are nothing special. If you're obsessed with girly, floral patters, then by all means, add this to your collection.3
My nails grow at a ridiculous rate. So much so, that I generally keep at least one file by my computer so I can tend to upkeep whilst watching re-runs of old sit-coms on the internet.
So I was really excited to get this Madewell Emery Board in the mail.
Unfortunately, I basically "used it up" within a few days. For the occasional hang nail or snagged edge, it worked fine. But once I had used it for an actual manicure, going through all 10 fingernails, that was pretty much the end- the board's grit was all used up and could no longer file down any more nails.
With the other side the same thing happened, so I essentially got two full uses and had to toss it. Which made me sad, because it's really pretty and I liked it's little plastic case. If I were ever to get another one, I'd keep it in my purse and just use it for "spot fixes" and get one of those ugly flat brown emery boards for home manicure use ;)
