Madewell for Birchbox Nail Emery Board

We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.

One of the few items I've ever been really disappointed once I used it a few times. The nail file did not hold up after just a few uses. I would not buy this product.

Looks Better Than it Works
Purchased

I wasn't very impressed with the durability of this nail file. It might work well for those with thinner nails, but it did not last very long for me. The only thing I did like was the cute floral pattern!

More of a fashion accessory
Purchased

I would use this more as a cute emery board to carry in my bag for emergency nail fixes, but not for normal routine manicures. The coating on both sides came of after just 1-2 filings and I didn't really feel that it was effective as other emery boards that I've used.

Totally fell apart
Purchased

This emery board fell apart as soon as I tried to use it. The files were very poorly glued on, and both of them started peeling off at the ends immediately. And the whole thing bends in half any time I grip it the wrong way. Really disappointing.

Adorable not functional

I "borrowed" this nail file from my sister who received it in her birchbox a long time ago. I've had it since she got it and put it in my makeup bag so I could use it every time I break a nail (which is often since I live in a dry climate). This file has lost all of its roughness and is basically useless now. It also wasn't particularly course to begin with, so it took a lot more effort to shape scraggly nails.

Decent

This emery board was nothing special. Although I loved the design it fell apart more quickly than most. The file separated from the board on the 4th time use. I wouldn't pay this for a product that doesn't last.

Meh

So I got this in one of my birchboxes and was super excited because I needed a new emery board. Within a few days of using this the board started to peel apart. Personally I don't think this is worth spending $5.

Cute, but flimsy

I was excited to find this in my box - the pattern is adorable. Unfortunately the emery-ness wore off really quickly and then fell off altogether. Skip this one.

Pretty, but doesn't last long

I really enjoyed the look of this emery board, but unfortunately it didn't last very long. After only two manicures, the board began to become flimsy and basically stopped working. Sure, it looks great in your bag, but isn't worth the money.

Updated review

This file, which I really liked originally, is now totally peeling apart, and it hasn't gotten tons of use or abuse. I'd not recommend at this price.
