We generally frown upon PDG (public displays of grooming) but this floral-patterned mini-file is so charming, we’re tempted to make an exception. Inspired by Madewell’s new spring collection, which features sun-ready prints and patterns like this one, the emery board is as practical as it is pretty. The double-sided nail care essential is perfect for daily maintenance and as a quick fix for snags or breaks.
I received this beautiful nail file in one of my Birchboxes and was initially thrilled with it. It came with a clear plastic protective sleeve, which I thought would help with protecting the file if I kept it in my purse. Fast forward to a week later, and the printed side peeled right off and essentially rendered the file useless. For $5, I can get at least 2 drug store files (in a pretty print, nonetheless), and even without a protective sleeve, they will hold up for months. Bottom line: it's pretty, but also pretty useless after a week of use.1
I thought this nail file was very pretty. However the design and the plain side emery immediately came off as soon as I used it. The pattern is lifting from the board itself and it's very flimsy. Not worth the money and ineffective!1
I'm confused as to why this product has three and a half stars. And why it was featured recently on the birchbox splurge item article. That makes me doubt the other products they have listed. This emery board worked great for the first use. But after a few uses, it was completely worn and the sides started peeling everywhere. I bought really cheap emery boards from the drug store that have lasted me for months.1
this was basically your run of the mill average nail file. i dont know that i remember there being anything special about it. i used it until it stopped working. i wouldnt purchase for full price. the design was very pretty though.3
I really enjoyed the look of this emery board, but unfortunately it didn't last very long. After only two manicures, the board began to become flimsy and basically stopped working. Sure, it looks great in your bag, but isn't worth the money.2
this emery board is just as good as any other, but the fact that this one comes with the beautiful floral print makes me want to use it more often. i also like the fact that its came with its own case so that it wont scratch anything else, or get worn down any faster.
Very pretty. I gave it to my mom with her Birchbox subscription and she was pleased with it. I am going to eventually get the hot pink striped one, because I liked the quality.5
Although very cute looking, it does not work for filing. I used it to file and after one finger, the file was already dull on the part I was using.1
This file, which I really liked originally, is now totally peeling apart, and it hasn't gotten tons of use or abuse. I'd not recommend at this price.2
This file is extremely flimsy and poorly made, meaning you will shred it before you actually manage to file any of your nails.1
