Citrus scents are impossibly fresh, but they also have a habit of going missing after a few hours. Until now, that is. This concentrated, distinctive blend lasts much longer than traditional citrus scents. Orange Sanguine is meant to recreate a moment in time, and mimics the blissful feeling of sitting on an oceanfront terrace, with groves of orange trees off in the distance. The joyful scent has top notes of blood orange and bitter orange, a middle transition with jasmine and geranium, and a base of amber woods, tonka beans, and sandalwood.
This scent was okay. I like it on my husband when he comes out of the shower :). On myself, I do not like it.1
I did not love this scent. It never blended with my body chemistry, and I felt like I was wearing a cleaning product all day.1
The fragrance is nice but its too strong for me. One little dab gave me a headache...1
I do not like the smell of oranges so this product was not for me. If you do like the smell of oranges than I would highly recommend this product!1
This perfume smelled just like someone was eating a freshly peeled orange. I like oranges just as much as the next person but i don't want to smell like one.1
Just my opinion, but it reminded me of a scent for men. I actually like the first notes, but then, ew. The scent lasts for a long time, though - I could still smell it after I had used soap to wash it off my wrists!1
i just did not like the whole orange smell, it was too much for me1
I never wear a lot of cologne/perfume, so this product was not for me. I would suggest to someone who likes to wear fragrance, but I usually only use a spray of body slash as I cannot tolerate strong cologne.1
I received this sample in my very first Birchbox (I was so excited to open it I could barely contain myself!). I don't tend to spend much on cosmetics, but I will part with more money for a good perfume. I like my scent to be noticeable for a moment when I walk by, or when I hug a friend. The Atelier Orange Sanguine almost knocked me over, just from opening the sample bottle! Unfortunately, it spilled on my fingers and I had to thoroughly wash my hands to get rid of the overpowering smell. As put off as I was by my first encounter with this cologne, I was willing to give it a try. Sometimes things smell better when you wear them than they do in the bottle, so I figured I would wait until the next day and dab a little on after my morning shower.
That was this morning. I did my very best to "dab a little on" (it's more difficult to get that tiny sample bottle open without spilling a little), but it's been hours and I feel like I'm being smothered by the smell. The idea of the combination of scents is very nice, but the orange is so overwhelming that I find myself turning my head trying to escape the smell that won't go away.
If you want to get the large bottle and find a way to only apply the TINIEST amount, it may be good. I will never buy this cologne because it makes me want to run away from myself.
While the product does seem to have staying power once applied, I did not care for the fragrance.1
