Discover the secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists. Originally created for new mothers facing sore nipples from breastfeeding, Dr. Lipp's ultrahydrating, healing formula later gained a rep as the ultimate lip gloss, primer, and multipurpose balm among savvy makeup artists. And with everything it does—prep lips to make lipstick wear better, add shine to cheeks, even tame unruly eyebrows—it'll earn a prized place in your makeup bag too. Packed with all-natural ingredients, this thick, rich, long-lasting formula is clinically proven to repair rough, flaky lips and smooth dry skin patches—plus it helps heal cuticles, split ends, sunburns, and itchy dry skin.
I've been using Lansinoh on my lips for 12 years -- it's the same product (but marketed to breastfeeding mothers for their nipples). You get 1.4 ounces for about $6-$9 (depending on the store --grocery, Target, WalMart, etc.), instead of this puny 1/2 ounce size for $14. If you want a small size for your purse, just squeeze some into an empty lipgloss pot, put it in the microwave until it melts into liquid; put it in the fridge until it hardens again and -- voila! -- you have the perfect lipbalm/gloss. It's the best thing out there for your lips, hands down. I swear by it and would never use anything else.1
It was very moisturizing but not anything spectacular. I prefer lip balm to have sunscreen in it. Overall this would be good if you are looking for something to wear at night.3
I wear it before bed and wake up with crease-free, plump lips! I don't recommend use if you're outside (big pet-peeve of mine is my hair getting stuck to my face from lip products... and this will do it since it's in the form of a gel), but I also use it for keeping my brows in place, any dry areas, and over my lipstick to add a little more shine.5
Good product for the winter months. Can be sticky when first applied but once soaked in the gloss gives great shine!!!5
I couldn't get enough of this lip treatment! It was perfect for the dry winter air in VT and my go-to for every day wear. It lasts and is great for dry finger tips and cuticle beds too, prevents painful winter cracking! I had to buy the full size because my boyfriend even loved it so much!5
This was good for moisturizing lips, but not my favorite. The texture was a little odd, and a little too greasy for me. I preferred to wear it overnight only for dry lips.3
Keeps my lips moisturized for long periods of time. Doesn't feel greasy or thick.5
I am addicted to this stuff! I use it daily on my lips & cuticles. It's really effective and has helped me with chronically dry cuticles and fingertips from working outdoors. Just a dab goes a long way.5
My lips get dry easily and this stuff really helped! I like that it has so many uses and I am still experimenting with it. Definitely great for your lips though!4
This is simply medical grade lanolin. No need to pay the high sticker price. Get the kind for nursing moms at any store (Target, grocery store, pharmacy).1
