Discover the secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists. Originally created for new mothers facing sore nipples from breastfeeding, Dr. Lipp's ultrahydrating, healing formula later gained a rep as the ultimate lip gloss, primer, and multipurpose balm among savvy makeup artists. And with everything it does—prep lips to make lipstick wear better, add shine to cheeks, even tame unruly eyebrows—it'll earn a prized place in your makeup bag too. Packed with all-natural ingredients, this thick, rich, long-lasting formula is clinically proven to repair rough, flaky lips and smooth dry skin patches—plus it helps heal cuticles, split ends, sunburns, and itchy dry skin.
I've been using Lansinoh on my lips for 12 years -- it's the same product (but marketed to breastfeeding mothers for their nipples). You get 1.4 ounces for about $6-$9 (depending on the store --grocery, Target, WalMart, etc.), instead of this puny 1/2 ounce size for $14. If you want a small size for your purse, just squeeze some into an empty lipgloss pot, put it in the microwave until it melts into liquid; put it in the fridge until it hardens again and -- voila! -- you have the perfect lipbalm/gloss. It's the best thing out there for your lips, hands down. I swear by it and would never use anything else.1
Didn't like this more than other lip balms. It's not worth that it gets on your finger. Made my lips feel sticky. It's fine in a pinch, but regular balms are easier and better.3
I recommend this lip balm to people all the time. It leaves such a pretty shine, but also does a great job moisturizing. It's not non-stick. My hair ends up in my gloss all the time, but I find those products tend to be drying, and this one is just plain nourishing. It's also great for chapped hands, although the tube is a bit small for justifying that use.5
The balm is wonderful for very dry, chapped lips. It didn't have a stron scent and left nice on my lips. It's very shiny.4
really love this stuff. it makes my lips feel great. i might perfer it if it had a BIT of a natural mint flavor/scent, but that's superficial.4
The name feels a little awkward when I try and say it :) but it's a good product. My lips can be bone dry, and I can use this product, and it stays on for hours! the next morning I still feel it on my lips! Totally cures chapped lips.5
makes my lips so soft, this is definitely a must try!5
I drink lots of coffee and often forget to hydrate, so my lips get neglected a lot. This balm is the best thing I've ever tried. It's also great on any other dry skin you have - I manage a restaurant so I wash my hands many time a day and this product helps heal my chapped knuckles better than any lotion.5
It makes my lips so soft!!!! I need to get more of it!5
This product was too sticky for me. Can't kiss my sweetheart, can't cross the street without getting my hair stuck to my lips. It does keep my lips moist, but seems to work the same as Vaseline and similar products--traps moisture but doesn't add moisture. Not for me.2
