Discover the secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists. Originally created for new mothers facing sore nipples from breastfeeding, Dr. Lipp's ultrahydrating, healing formula later gained a rep as the ultimate lip gloss, primer, and multipurpose balm among savvy makeup artists. And with everything it does—prep lips to make lipstick wear better, add shine to cheeks, even tame unruly eyebrows—it'll earn a prized place in your makeup bag too. Packed with all-natural ingredients, this thick, rich, long-lasting formula is clinically proven to repair rough, flaky lips and smooth dry skin patches—plus it helps heal cuticles, split ends, sunburns, and itchy dry skin.
I've been using Lansinoh on my lips for 12 years -- it's the same product (but marketed to breastfeeding mothers for their nipples). You get 1.4 ounces for about $6-$9 (depending on the store --grocery, Target, WalMart, etc.), instead of this puny 1/2 ounce size for $14. If you want a small size for your purse, just squeeze some into an empty lipgloss pot, put it in the microwave until it melts into liquid; put it in the fridge until it hardens again and -- voila! -- you have the perfect lipbalm/gloss. It's the best thing out there for your lips, hands down. I swear by it and would never use anything else.1
So moisturizing, honestly better than aquaphor or vaseline. If you can get over the fact that it's called nipple balm go for it!5
There seems to be quite a few of these types of products out there. The Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips is a great one to have with you at all times. It can be used for all kinds of things. Wherever you need relief or moisture is where this stuff goes. It is pretty thick, so apply in layers.4
Great product!! My lips crack easily and this work fantastic!! My lips feel smooth. Will definitely be buying it again!!5
I change product often but I used the entire thing. The perfect consistency!5
This is my favorite lip balm of all time; it stays on forever and it extremely hydrating. I don't have to keep reapplying it a million times a day, just once and I'm good.5
I am not sure what I was expecting, but I was a little disappointed with this product. It is thicker and heavier than petroleum jelly and does not seem to moisturize my skin as long. The small packaging works great for on the go, but I'm probably going to stick with good ol' petroleum jelly for my lips.3
I am a nurse and we all know hospitals are notorious for dry air! I keep this in my purse and apply as needed. It is much more long acting than other chapsticks or things of that sort. I definitely recommend it. It can seem very thick at first, but I got used to that quickly.5
I got this item in my very first Birchbox a couple years ago and haven't looked back. I was strictly a Vaseline user for years and then switched once I tried this. I feel it actually moisturizes AND locks it in as opposed to just sitting on top of your skin. Plus, it adds a nice little shean that's great for your natural look make-up days. Can't say enough good things about it really.5
Works so well, feels a little like Vaseline at first but rubs in quickly and is good on all skin, small but really effective, I've bought it twice5
