Discover the secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists. Originally created for new mothers facing sore nipples from breastfeeding, Dr. Lipp's ultrahydrating, healing formula later gained a rep as the ultimate lip gloss, primer, and multipurpose balm among savvy makeup artists. And with everything it does—prep lips to make lipstick wear better, add shine to cheeks, even tame unruly eyebrows—it'll earn a prized place in your makeup bag too. Packed with all-natural ingredients, this thick, rich, long-lasting formula is clinically proven to repair rough, flaky lips and smooth dry skin patches—plus it helps heal cuticles, split ends, sunburns, and itchy dry skin.
Tiniest sample ever, when I tried to squeeze some of the balm out a huge air bubble popped out and I discovered I would only get about 3 uses out of it. You should try to apply it directly to your lips, it is really sticky and applying with your finger won't work out so well. It reminds me of petroleum jelly. It probably works just as well as petroleum jelly, too. Definitely not worth the price. Not happy.1
I had heard so much about this product and was THRILLED when it came in my box. I was deeply disappointed! It was sticky and really hard to apply!
Remember getting tree sap on your hands when you were a kid? This is that same texture and consistency.
I'm sure it would be a great product if it was soft or smooth enough to actually APPLY. Unfortunately, you'd be better off just using what you already have.
Too bad, it's reasonably priced and the brand is well loved.
Totally let down.
The packaging and marketing of this product might be a little different but it's the same exact product that is sold for breastfeeding mothers. There's no way I'd pay more because the packaging looks better. If you want to put nipple balm on your lips, which feels kind of gross, then buy the cheaper stuff at the grocery store.1
Honestly I'm not impressed. It's very sticky and I hate that in a lip gloss. I wouldn't waste my money on it and i'm thankful it was in my box.1
For some reason, this product gave my lips scaliness and dryness I have only encountered with products I'm allergic to, so I can only assume that I'm allergic something in this thing.1
I love the simple nature of this product- it adds amazing moisture and shine! all i need.1
This is the first item i have received in my Birchbox that I really dislike. It is difficult to get out of the tube, it has a very thick, sticky consistency, and in general for "dry skin" i would rather have a creamy moisturizer rather than this syrup like substance.1
This is just not anything i would ever use. I can see how it would be great if you had severely damaged lips from windburn or something but for regular use it's messy, sticky, and has no flavor.1
So as a nursing mom who uses nipple cream...just buy some nipple cream! It's cheaper and just as effective.1
I don't think this will ever be able to replace my current lip balm or what I use on my cuticles.1
