Discover the secret passed from nursing mothers to make-up artists. Originally created for new mothers facing sore nipples from breastfeeding, Dr. Lipp's ultrahydrating, healing formula later gained a rep as the ultimate lip gloss, primer, and multipurpose balm among savvy makeup artists. And with everything it does—prep lips to make lipstick wear better, add shine to cheeks, even tame unruly eyebrows—it'll earn a prized place in your makeup bag too. Packed with all-natural ingredients, this thick, rich, long-lasting formula is clinically proven to repair rough, flaky lips and smooth dry skin patches—plus it helps heal cuticles, split ends, sunburns, and itchy dry skin.
So I thought this was going to be disgusting. I put Lanolin cream on my nipples when I was nursing. Why would I want it on my lips? It was heavy and greasy the way I remembered it. And this is called nipple balm, for crying out loud...
This is not your old nipple cream. It just happens to have the same ingredient. Also, it looked like I had lip color on because it made my lips healthier. I was able to eat, drink, and smoke without it coming off completely or drying out. This was a shocking and welcome surprise.
I was highly unsatisfied with this product. I love lip products such as glosses, balms, lipsticks, and so forth. This balm provided no help to my lips whatsoever. The only effect this product had on my lips was making them sticky all day long to the point where several times I found myself wiping it off just to get it off. The sticky consistency was terrible. I was also not a fan of the smell of the product.1
Took a second to get used to the texture, but I fell in love. Perfect for the coming winter5
This is a great all purpose balm. I used it on my lips and a cuticle that had cracked. It worked great! It was soooo long lasting on my lips too, much longer than most other products. Loved it!5
This thicker lip balm certainly does smooth chapped/dry lips. Due to its heavier feel, I prefer to put it on at bedtime.4
I do not care for the texture of this product on my lips but it is helpful on my cuticles. I am not sure if I'd purchase this though.3
With the feeling of thick goopiness that I get from this product I wonder why I don't just buy and use a tub of Vaseline. This is not the texture I want on my lips. It's also oddly not very effective. There are better lip moisteners that I've been sent from Birchbox.2
This was my favorite product this month- very effective and leaves my lips so soft! Will be buying this4
Product was effective, but I couldn't get the image of nipples out of my brain. A bit disturbing.3
This definitely does the job of moisturizing well, but be warned that your lips will be sticky! But I still think using this will be great especially in dry winter weather.4
