I love the colors used for packing. I did have to do a double take to make sure that this was meant for my lips and not somewhere else ;)4
This reminds me of my favorite product Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream without the awful smell. A little greasy but once it sinks in it disappears in the skin and your skin feels great. However the sample I received was practically empty I had to rub the tube on the counter corner like a tooth paste tube to get the tiny amount of product out of the tube. If the tube had been filled I would have received a wonderful sample but there was nothing in there.5
I am a victim of year round chapped lips so I'm going through a lot of lip products. I didn't quite care for this sample due to its sticky texture and felt as if the balm left my lips feeling even more dry and chapped once the balm had worn off.4
I was concerned this product wouldn't be a good fit for me based on the name and description, but once I gave it a try I was hooked. It is a great overnight lip treatment and a little goes a long way. What a terrific find.4
I've used lanolin products before, as a nursing mother. Don't let it freak you out that it's original use is for nipples, it's just because it's SUPER moisturizing and has an amazing thick consistency. I've never used Dr. Lipp until I got the Birchbox sample, but I think their packaging is so cute. I love that it's all natural and it makes my lips feel so soft and moisturized. I'll be hooked forever. I'm a chapstick addict, but I never feel like it's heavy enough, this stuff looks like a pretty, clear gloss, and moisturizes at the same time. I also love products that have multiple uses and this stuff is great for elbows and knees and other extra dry areas. I live in Michigan with crazy mean winters and dry skin in the winter here is a REAL issue, this stuff is amazing.5
Very thick, would be nice for overnight use to lock in lip moisture. Likely I'll just stick with carmex though.4
I loved this lip repair creme. Made my lips extra smooth. I even had a burn on my lip and used that and helped it go away quicker5
This sample was great! I used it mostly for my lips but it hydrated them and worked great!4
As a nursing mom, I've owned many tubes of lanolin. I've always used it for multiple body parts. I'm not surprised somebody started marketing it to non-nursing moms. It is really a wonderful moisturizer! I use it on my lips, nipples, knuckles, cuticles, and even my nostrils when I am sick and have a raw nose from having to blow my nose so much. It is a wonderful product!
As for this particular brand, it is definitely a wonderful quality of lanolin! There are some brands that I've used that are too thick or sticky. This one is right up there with the best ones I've ever used.
It is thick, healing, and surprisingly, leaves a really pretty sheen on the lips. I may have to purchase this for the dry winter months.4
