Curly hair can have a mind of its own, but with the right products you can whip it into shape. amika’s Curl Defining Cream is lightweight enough for summer but hydrating enough for winter, and defines curls without weighing them down. Free of parabens, silicone, and artificial colors, it’s safe for all hair types — even color-treated tresses. We love the convenient pump bottle, with its bright graphic motif.
I love the scent but the cream is a little heavy for my hair and looks greasy. I will try it again in the winter.3
I got this for my boyfriend who has great curly hair, but knows almost nothing about products. He loves it and it smells great too! Really defines his curls.5
Smells graet! Works great! controls frizz. I have purchased 3 bottles from Birchbox.5
I have very thick and curly hair, and usually creams do not hold my curls well enough but this product is great! it holds my curls tight, but isn't crunchy or heavy! And it smells AMAZING5
works great to tame frizz for my curly hair and smells great, also helps to moisturize! best hair lotion product i've ever used5
I ordered this to try a new product and was pleased. I have naturally curly hair but straighten it on most days. I wanted a product to make the days where I left my hair dry in its natural curl easy. This product is smooth and leaves soft bouncy curls, not crunchy or hard like gels.4
I like this product a lot. I actually have naturally straight/very lightly wavy hair and what i do is i curl my hair into goldilock curls with my flat iron and then i scrunch the amika cream into my hair. It makes it very soft, not crunchy and holds the curls very well. also smells so much better than hairspray or other holding products. Definitely a must have!5
After reading a lot of reviews, I was really excited to purchase this product. I never had a sample of it, and I was looking for a new curl cream. I typically use another brand I find at the salon I go to, but ran out and thought I would try something else. It took a while to find the right amount of this product for my hair...it's definitely the Goldilocks approach. Just a TINY bit too much and my hair is weighed down, too little and I have frizzy ends that puff out like a poodle. Maybe it's my hair. I have type 2C curly hair, so it might just be a bit too heavy for it. That being said, I think it would be a great product for others. Definitely leaves my hair soft, smells great, and has a pretty clean ingredient profile. There are some things that are unavoidable, but this is a healthier option I think.3
I am always looking for a great curl cream. This cream really defines my curls without being sticky and crunchy. The smell of the product is wonderful, too.5
For this price point, I like this product. It gives a little more shine than my Bumble and Bumble texturizing cream, but it doesn't maintain curl definition all day as well as the B&B. I do like that it doesn't have any too bad chemicals, and it does seem to keep my hair pretty well hydrated, so I will continue to use for an every day product.4
