In our quest to eradicate zits we’ve tried our fair share of pimple-busting products—with mixed results. This radical serum may very well be The One. The doctor-developed formula penetrates the skin, going straight to the source to eliminate trapped bacteria, dirt, and oil to restore damaged skin. It gets the job done quickly and gently, without irritating or over-drying your skin. The patent-pending YS3 Complex delivers blemish-banishing ingredients, like tea tree oil and salicylic acid, beneath the skin’s surface. Willow bark extract reduces inflammation and redness. Bonus: The serum also tackles surface scars and hyperpigmentation.
This sample came just in time for me, as I had developed a lovely pimple on my chin...lucky me. I read the reviews before using this, so I was expecting this to really diminish the pimple overnight, but it had almost no effect beyond slightly drying out my skin. It has a very strong tea-tree oil fragrance, so maybe my skin just doesn't like tea tree oil. Even though I was disappointed, I have kept using to see if it takes a while to make any change, but it still hasn't done anything expect dry out my face.2
I am very happy with this sample I received in my last birchbox. It is gentle enough that I can use it every day as a preventative cream but also works well on pre-existing acne.5
I have only tried one facial peel that comes in a form of wipes. But this is really good and effective. I have sensitive skin and it does irritate my sling much.4
Disclaimer: I have the most breakout prone skin ever, and this product made my breakouts worse.3
I have very acne prone skin, so this was a welcome sample. Unfortunately, it didn't stand out as anything too special. I know plenty of people remarked on the smell, but as someone who has used just about every anti-acne product out there, it didn't bother me.3
I did not like this product. It was extremely runny making it hard to apply and I felt like it wasnt staying on my face.2
Sometimes I try new skincare and I can't tell if it makes any difference unless I use it for a few weeks. I have no idea if this helped my skin, but it definitely didn't hurt it.4
I found this product highly ineffective. I would not recommend it1
Overall, it is an effective product. Careful how much you use though, or you will look and feel like you got a chemical peel done.4
I don't think think this is a bad product, but I think my skin really doesn't like salicylic acid. I've tried it so many times, always with painful results. I love the fact that it has tea tree oil as well, which DOES work well for my skin, but because of the salicylic acid I felt like this product did more harm than good for me personally.3
