In our quest to eradicate zits we’ve tried our fair share of pimple-busting products—with mixed results. This radical serum may very well be The One. The doctor-developed formula penetrates the skin, going straight to the source to eliminate trapped bacteria, dirt, and oil to restore damaged skin. It gets the job done quickly and gently, without irritating or over-drying your skin. The patent-pending YS3 Complex delivers blemish-banishing ingredients, like tea tree oil and salicylic acid, beneath the skin’s surface. Willow bark extract reduces inflammation and redness. Bonus: The serum also tackles surface scars and hyperpigmentation.
it works great, it doesn't magically make spots and pimples disappear right after, but what i love is that it does minimize the look of them after a couple of uses and it the serum isn't too greasy or drying for me4
While it smelled strongly of tea tree oil, this was not as overwhelming. It tingled and worked like tea tree oil does, but it's the texture of a gel and is easy to apply and blend either as a spot treatment or spread across larger parts of the face. I noticed that it worked especially well to help fade marks from healed acne.5
This is a nice blemish corrector not to strong and has a pleasant smell. Seems to help with smal blemishes4
Based on the smell, it was immediately obvious that this product relies on tea tree oil to velar blemishes. I didn't see anything particularly special about this that would make me purchase it over using plain old tea tree oil by itself.3
Product goes on smooth and worked very will to clear and reduce my premenstrual cycle breakouts. Did not dry my skin either.5
I like that you can use this as a blemish and scar treatment! My husband started using it too!5
I don't really have acne issues on my face, so I tried this out on some scarring I have on my leg. After about a week... I can't really tell if it made a difference. Although that's not surprising—visible improvement would have been too much to expect. It does have a matte finish that's long lasting (even in bed overnight) if that's your cup of tea. This product just isn't ideal for my facial skin, so I can't really review it on that front.4
I've been having terrible problems with acne for the first time ever in clusters on my right side of my face - but this product seemed to clear up a lot of the trouble spots within a few days! The texture and consistency is fine and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or anything - however the smell is -very- medicinal. I'm not usually opposed to that sort of scent, but this one is very strong.4
This was my first Birchbox and I'm a little confused that two of the samples I received looked different as in size or packaging from those listed here. But I had recently decided to do a system cleanse which sometimes leads to breakouts and I'm 45 so the inevitable chin acne from hormones. This product seems to shorten the life cycle of the zit. I can smell the tea tree oil in it which I never cared for but do have straight tea tree oil we use for a number of reasons. But this was not as harsh as using tea tree oil directly on the blemish. It felt a little sticky to the touch after application.5
This product had a nice scent. The sample size was huge and will last me a while. I did think the consistency was a bit runny. Overall a good product.4
