We love a shimmery shadow, but often we find ourselves in more of a matte mood. If you’re looking to add a bit of color without any shine, consider this velvety shadow. Cement, a medium grey, is perfect for a daytime smoky eye, and we love dabbing a bit of Alabaster, a peachy ivory, in the corners of our eyes as a quick brightening cheat. Darker shades like Purple Sage and Burnt Umber will instantly up the glam factor.
I do not think I would buy this. First the sample was very small and the color wasn't anything I would like. Second I would have to apply so much to even get any color on my lids.1
I recieved the Cement shade and although I loved the tiny size, the color was not the best for my fair skin and brown eyes. Also, the color is not very richly pigmented so it took quite a few layers for the color to even show up on my lids.1
I recieved a small sample of this eye shadow. I was surprised it even was an eye shadow, the color is so light you cannot see it.
It might be nice for olive or dark skin.
Very ordinary. Nothing special for the price. (I typically use a light matte shadow for a base and this did not have good staying power nor was the pigment strong.)2
The purple sage is beautiful, but I found the matte shadow difficult to apply. I use a base before applying my shadow to extend the wear of my shadow so that may have impacted the application of the shadow, but I don't think I'll be purchasing it again.2
Not the best color for me, but it was a creamy product that I would try in a brown shade.2
I received the "Santa Fe" color in my birchbox. I love the small packaging, although this might just be for the sample. The consistency was great for eyeshadow, and it seems like it will last for awhile, just the absolute wrong color for me. Perhaps if I was a tan blonde this would work, but for a pale brunette, it just sort of looked like I might have a mild case of pink eye... or I need a nap2
I received this shadow in the color Alabaster which pretty much matched my skin tone so completely I couldn't see it. I tried a few more layers to see if it would become more visible and it didn't. This might be good for you if you have this skin tone and need a nude base but the formula does not make it a stand out at this price point. I can't say it's velvety, but it's not as dry as some matte shadows are. My lids also tend to be oily so this won't last unless you have a good primer.2
This eye shadow is not worth the price. They are not highly pigmented and the color selection is dull. The texture is not creamy and overall I feel you are better off buying a drugstore eye shadow which will be much cheaper.2
i don't love the color that i received. i like the texture and the size.2
