We love a shimmery shadow, but often we find ourselves in more of a matte mood. If you’re looking to add a bit of color without any shine, consider this velvety shadow. Cement, a medium grey, is perfect for a daytime smoky eye, and we love dabbing a bit of Alabaster, a peachy ivory, in the corners of our eyes as a quick brightening cheat. Darker shades like Purple Sage and Burnt Umber will instantly up the glam factor.
i thought the color was going to be very dark and wouldnt blend well [just based on consistency] but was pleasantly surprised! it blended well and goes on lighter than expected so you can make it as dark or light as you'd like!4
I received this sample in the grey Cement color. It was a really cute little compact that the shadow came in, but I don't think I would use this color. I like my greys to be a have more shimmer to them so it doesn't just look like I have a black eye.4
good matte shadow. still it's just eyeshadow not sure it is worth the money guess it depends on the size of your wallet.3
I received the Burnt Umber sample and it kind of made me look like a raccoon, even when applied well. It was too dark for my pale complexion. I think the purple shade would work better for green eyes/fair skin.
On the positive side, the eyeshadow stays on long and doesn't wear off!
The shadow is a nice non sparkly and non shiny addition to my eyeshadow collection, but the color is nothing amazing and I just used it to darken the stuff I was already using.3
This is a nice smooth formula in a true grey shade. Not too much blue which is the problem with a lot of greys.5
I received the Burnt Umber in the March box and I am a lover of eye shadow and with my dark skin tone I love highly pigmented shadows and this one definitely makes the grade... I hope they offer some spring/summer colors to Birch Box customers5
I know that a lot of people don't like this color/payout, but it is buildable and I love how it is matte and with a good primer, I think this is a great lid color (I also have brown eyes). I specifically like the philosophy of the brand with its philanthropy. Glad Bbox showed me this new brand!4
This eye shadow is not worth the price. They are not highly pigmented and the color selection is dull. The texture is not creamy and overall I feel you are better off buying a drugstore eye shadow which will be much cheaper.2
The color I received was burnt umber and I absolutely love it. I needed a good dark color for evening and this one was perfect. The color isn't too strong and you only need a little bit on the brush to make a huge impact. And it lasted the entire night, without requiring a touch up. I'm in love!5
